In addition to being our cofounder and general surgeon, Dr. Abraham, is also a board certified critical care and trauma surgeon, practicing at a local hospital in Northern Idaho.

It means Dr. Abraham has a greater breath than most general surgeons.

Not only is he skilled at caring for routine hernias, appendectomies, and the like, but he also has the experience of daily handling complex and difficult cases.

Hospitals are clinically and financially often not the best choice for patients.

Our total joint surgeon Dr. Scott in Spokane takes all his cases (when appropriate) to a local surgery center.

This allows him a better surgery environment and better outcomes for the patient in terms of infection rates and recovery.

Your quality of life is the biggest factor in determining whether you are ready for hip or knee replacement.

Imaging will provide your surgeon a concrete determination on whether you’re clinically in need of a total or partial replacement (i.e. is there any cartilage remaining).

Next is determining what you want your quality of life to be and whether that means a joint replacement now versus a few years down the road.

There is often a sweet spot in your surgery timeline where you can minimize unnecessarily uncomfortable or painful years.

For many active people, getting a joint replacement sooner is often a better solution than trying to push through the pain.

At Veritas, we ultimately want patients to have a clean and realistic picture their scenario and options so they can make their own decision.
