Hot flashes 🧊 are one of the most common—and most disruptive—symptoms of menopause. Yet many women either can’t, or choose not to, use hormone therapy.
Unfortunately, traditional alternatives like phytoestrogens or acupuncture often don’t deliver enough relief. 😔
A study out of São Paulo, Brazil followed 60 menopausal women with severe hot flashes. Half received botulinum toxin A (BoNTA) 💉 in areas such as the face, neck, chest, and scalp; the other half got placebo injections.
After just 60 days, the BoNTA group reported fewer hot flashes, less sweating, better sleep, and an uplifted mood. 🥳
While some symptoms gradually returned at the six-month mark, they remained milder than before treatment—and no major side effects were noted. ✨
For too long, women have been expected to “tough it out” during this stage of life. But that’s changing. By 2030, more than 1.2 billion women worldwide will be in menopause.
This research offers an encouraging glimpse at how menopause care can evolve beyond hormone therapy.
Women deserve options that are both safe and effective. In aesthetics, we’re not just supporting beauty—we’re supporting the entire aging process. Both deserve the same excitement, so you can not only look amazing, but feel your best, too. 💕
