We had a VIP in the clinic today, I had to share 🐾 Fenwick is a strapping young lad well on his way to bettering society as a guide dog! 🦮 He practiced his “nap during therapies” trick today, a vital life skill for any assistance animal.

Cussing optional, all feelings and thoughts on your recovery welcome and accepted here 🌺 PT is a place where the rubber meets the road. Our fundamental training is in building quality of life and getting you moving again- and that’s not always easy. Come as you are to physical therapy- sad, angry, frustrated, hurt, optimistic, in awe of your body’s ability to heal, pi**ed off that this is the hand of cards you’ve been dealt, or completely lost. Take up whatever space you need in this room. But you just 👏🏼 can’t 👏🏼 give up.

The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology has released a strongly worded position statement on the recent unprecedented and unfounded comments made by unqualified individuals at the highest levels of government about acetaminophen use during pregnancy. It’s very important during this time to remember that there ARE experts in this field. As licensed practitioners we are bound by evidence based practice- and we will continue to speak up against those who attack this pillar of our clinical practice. I stand with the ACOG!

🌺 I am happy to report that under close medical su-pawvision from my attending bulldog the rib cage is on the mend. I am starting to question his recommendation that we should be co-napping 14-20 hours per day (he’s quite insistent on this but can’t cite any sources which you all know is a red flag for me 🚩) so might get a second opinion this week. A sneeze can still ruin my day and I certainly can’t fathom getting my own socks and shoes on yet, but I have SO much tactile lived insight coming out of this injury about the core and the pelvic floor 🤯 The rib cage, the diaphragm, ALL OF IT! (Please mentally insert your favorite conspiracy GIF here) I have always said that every injury makes me a better PT. While it will be a long and thoughtful road to mental 🧠 and physical recovery from this accident, I know I get to do it alongside all of you- who have modeled strength, toughness and resilience in every way possible. I’m starting to reach out to patients to reschedule in the next few days- we get back up, we put our boots back on, and we ride again! See you at the clinic 🌺

Proof of life 🫠 Hey everyone! This is an update on the clinic- on 8/16 I was in a serious riding accident at a show in Cle Elum which resulted in 4 broken ribs and a lung contusion. My horse is fine and uninjured. My family, my barn, and my medical team helped to get me home safely but it will be a few weeks before I’m back in the clinic. I am reaching out to everyone with appointments individually and I truly appreciate everyone’s kind words and patience during this difficult time 🌺 I’m practicing what I always tell you guys- being patient with myself, breathing through pain, and setting goals for improvement every day. Hope to see everyone in September! 💞
