"I think as a person, it helped me develop more. Compassion towards people from different backgrounds, how to work with different people. How to communicate with people. I think I definitely grew as a person at the CDHD." -- Avery Pierce-Garnett, Special Education Teacher
Our CDHD student trainees work with people from all academic backgrounds, all abilities and all walks of life. Not only can this result in personal growth, but it also helps trainees gain universal communication skills that can be applied in any job.
This is definitely something that stood out to Avery Pierce-Garnett, former CDHD trainee, who sat down with us to talk about his top takeaways from his time at the Center. Stay tuned for more of Avery's story, coming soon.
