October 2025 - Heather Holmes

"As your website states "We treat the condition and care for the patient." I'll start off by saying that every ICU Nurse involved in my care did an excellent job and was very attentive to my needs. Heather stood out because she was always extra cheerful & encouraging. She also seemed to know what I needed before I could ask. Heather took the time to converse with me, comfort me and explain things in detail that I could understand. When she said she'd follow-up on a task for me, she did. Heather also made my husband, family & friends feel comfortable during visits. Never did Heather make me feel like she didn't have time for me or that she needed to rush on to the next patient. She is fact stated, 'while I'm in your room-I've got no one else to care for'...'My time is yours, my dear'. Heather cared for me with skill, humor & compassion. She is a true asset to your team. She is a blessing to me and others! Sincerely & with a grateful heart."

Weโ€™re proud to partner with Grant County Health District on this important program for families in our community. ๐Ÿ’™ Thanks to their Injury Prevention Program and support from the Washington State Department of Health, Samaritan Hospital now has car seats available for families who may need one immediately following a crash.

Together, weโ€™re helping ensure every child can leave the hospital safely buckled in and every parent has a little more peace of mind during stressful times. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ‘ถ

Thank you to all of the teams involved for making safety a priority for the children and families we serve!

โœจ Program Highlight โœจ

GCHDโ€™s Injury Prevention Program recently donated car seats to Samaritan Hospital. This ensures families in our community can access them when they need them most, especially in urgent situations.

Thanks to grant funds from the Washington State Department of Health, which support Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) education in Grant County.

Samaritan Hospital will now have car seats available for families who may unexpectedly need one after a crash and arenโ€™t able to purchase a replacement right away.

Every child deserves to ride safely. This partnership helps make sure kids can leave the hospital protected on the road, and give parents peace of mind during difficult moments. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ‘ถ

A big thank you to our Injury Prevention Coordinator, Jana, and our partners at Samaritan Hospital for working with us to keep children safe in our community!
