In all the craziness that has occurred through 2020 with purchasing Valley Eye Care and Vision Clinic in March, shutting down due to COVID for six weeks, working on putting together a new location, and then merging the offices into the new location; it just dawned on me I never sent out a post introducing myself to all of you.
My name is Rick Harrison, I am originally from Irrigon, OR. I am married to my wife of 20 years, Nicole. She is a teacher and is currently subbing for the Moses Lake School District. We have two children, Blake who is serving a church mission in Mesa, AZ, while awaiting to go to the Dominican Republic and Ashlyn who is a freshman at Moses Lake High School.
I am an avid sports fan and love cheering on the Oregon Ducks and the Chicago Cubs. Blake and I have chased the Cubs around the country with a goal to one day catch them in every away stadium. Ashlyn and I enjoy spending fall afternoons at Autzen stadium screaming at the top of our lungs. We enjoy traveling as a family and are always looking for a chance to get to a warm beach locale.
Professionally I graduated from Pacific University in 2006. Following graduation, I took a job in Atlanta and then moved my family to the South Georgia coast for 5 years. While in South Georgia, I opened two practices that I sold to move back to the northwest. After a brief stop in Klamath Falls, OR, we settled down for 8 wonderful years in Walla Walla, before coming to Moses Lake.
My areas of interest in optometry are general family practice, ocular disease, surgical co-management, and I tend to work well with pediatrics. I enjoy the opportunities I have to care for patients of all ages and try my best to make everyone feel comfortable. I strive to communicate well and do my best to make sure your questions and concerns are answered. I thank all of you who have given me a chance to care for your eyes already and look forward to the opportunity of caring for so many others out there moving forward. I am thankful for the chance to be in Moses Lake and look forward to many more years here!
