We had a great time last week at National FFA Convention!💙💛

On Wednesday, we left bright and early from the school! We made a pit stop for lunch, and then swung by the National FFA Headquarters! From there, we went to Hunter’s Honey Farm where we learned about how the hives work, the roles of each bee, and the different processes on the honey farm!🍯

On Thursday, we headed to the Opening Session at Lucas Oil Stadium. We listened to opening remarks from the National FFA Advisor, heard the band play, and listened to keynote speaker A’ric Jackson! After that, we got to explore the Expo, where there were SO many businesses, colleges, stores, and more🛍️ From there, we headed to Beasley’s Orchard and were able to sit in on a talk with the owner of Beasley’s Orchard, where he talked about the operation. We had so much fun here!🍎🎃

On Friday, we went to the 4th general session, where there were proficiency awards, agriscience fair awards, a national officer retiring address and more. From there we made the trip back to Iowa! It was a great few days!

Our annual c**n hunt and soup supper is Saturday, November 8th! We’re also doing something new, BINGO!

🥣The soup supper will start at 5:30, and go until 11
✏️Registration for the c**n hunt is from 6-6:30
🦝The c**n hunt starts at 6:30, and hunters AND c**ns need to be back at the shop at 11:00 p.m.
🖌️Bingo will start at 6:30, and we will play 20 games

Last week we held our annual Feed the Farmer event! The chapter had a great time preparing the meal, and making our farmers feel appreciated this harvest season!🚜🌽

Last week, our chapter members put on a new event! They spent the evening traveling around to local farms and washing combines and tractors to help farmers start harvest on a clean note. Members cleaned windows, swept floors, and power washed the outside of machinery!🚜🧽🫧

On Monday, 4 freshman were able to attend the Greenhand Fire Up Conference at the FFA Enrichment Center on the DMACC Ankeny campus! This is for first year FFA members, and it gives them a chance to rotate through workshops led by state and district FFA officers, meet other Greenhands, and see what FFA is all about!💚🔥

Do you want to start harvest on a good, clean note? Let our FFA members give your tractor or combine a light cleaning before harvest gets into full swing!

You can pick interior cleaning, exterior cleaning, or both!

Interior: we will clean your windows, the floor, around the gears etc.
Exterior: we will power wash the outside of the combine/tractor! (Water only)
