95% of ADA Dentist surveyed are closed or substantially closed!
Marko Vujicic and the ADA recently shared results of responses from 19,000 dentists who were asked how they are handling the COVID-19 pandemic. I was particularly interested in two of the responses;
· “what is the current status of your dental practice” - 95% of all respondents report their office is only seeing emergency patients or closed entirely
· “How does this week compare to what is typical in your practice in terms of patient volume” - 91% of all respondents are reporting Patient Volume is less than 25% of what is typical
I encourage every company involved in the Dental Industry to develop a “90 and 180 day” plan to assure they have the resources (financial, human and emotional) to weather this pandemic. Please reach out to your advisors to work with you on this endeavor, your future survival depends on it. Your planning should include when will the offices reopen, when will the patients return, when will they be able to afford the procedures you depend on and how quickly will the dentist cash flow recover such that they can pay their bills as they did prior to the pandemic.
Lot’s to think about, I leave you with 2 thoughts – Knowledge is power and Hope is not a strategy.
