A hernia occurs when part of the body pushes through a weak spot in the muscle, often causing a bulge or discomfort. Reflux, also known as acid reflux or heartburn, happens when stomach acid moves up into the esophagus and creates a burning feeling in the chest.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder that this is one of the most common and preventable cancers.

Colorectal cancer is the 3rd most commonly diagnosed cancer in the U.S. and the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths. The good news is that screening can prevent cancer by removing precancerous polyps and detect it early when treatment is most effective!

Colonoscopies are the gold standard for screening⭐ At Colquitt Regional Health System, you can receive this care close to home with six experienced providers: Dr. Don Roberts with Sterling Group Gastroenterology; Dr. Howard Melton, Dr. Amber Holt, Dr. William Stembridge, and Dr. Dresden Melton Soderstrom with Sterling Group General Surgery; and Dr. Justin Baker at the Kirk Clinic.
