We are saddened by the passing of Larry Sackett, a resident we were truly privileged to know during his stays with us. Over the years, Larry became more than a resident — he became part of our extended family.

He was so proud of his loved ones and never missed an opportunity to share stories about them. His face would light up when talking about his family, his life, and especially about his beloved dog, Charlie. Charlie & Connie’s visits brought him such joy.

Larry was a kind, soft-spoken man with a gentle spirit — but he also had a playful side. He loved to tease the staff, and caring for him was truly enjoyable because of the warmth and humor he brought with him.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones. It was an honor to care for Larry, and he will be deeply missed. 💙

We are sad to share Lester Hickman’s passing. Many in our community knew Les through his years of dedicated service as a pharmacist. More recently, we had the privilege of caring for him during his stays with us, especially in these past months with his wife Shirley.

Les was known for his dry sense of humor and his quiet strength. He was a proud man — proud of his accomplishments, his work, and most of all, his family. It was an honor to know him not only as a professional in our community, but also as a resident and friend.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones. May they find peace and comfort in the memories they shared. He will be remembered and missed. 🕊️

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Yvonne Andrew.

We had the privilege of getting to know Yvonne while caring for her. She was an exceptional piano player who brought joy and energy to our community with her lively tunes. She also had a wonderful sense of humor, often sharing witty remarks that never failed to bring a smile. We will miss her late-night snacking with staff and her vibrant musical spirit.

May the memories she created bring peace, comfort, and healing to all who knew and loved her. 🕊️

Love was in the air at Maple Ridge Assisted Living this week! ❤️

Our tenants took it upon themselves to organize a special group activity—creating handmade Valentine’s cards for our residents at Mount Ayr Health Care. With stamping, coloring, and their own creative designs, each card is being made with care and intention.

These Valentines will be shared next month, and every one reflects the kindness, creativity, and thoughtfulness of the tenants who made them. We love seeing initiatives like this grow naturally from within our community—proof that generosity and connection are always in style. 💌
