I just love it when students get into their dream school! Even when the dream school is my Alma mater’s rival! Way to go Camryn! 🧡🧡🧡

✨ What We Did in 7th Grade Today ✨

Our 7th graders worked on something powerful this week — learning how perspective can change the way we think, feel, and handle tough situations 🧠💡

In class, students were given everyday scenarios and first looked at them from a negative point of view. They used LEGO-style builds to show how a situation can feel overwhelming or frustrating at first. Then… we flipped the script 🔄

Students rebuilt the same scenario from a more positive, hopeful perspective and talked about:
• What made the situation harder at first
• What changed when their thinking changed
• How perspective can make problems feel more manageable

We had some really thoughtful conversations about things like being left out, struggling in class, losing a game, and trying something new — and how our mindset plays a huge role in how we respond ❤️

It was amazing to see students realize they don’t always get to choose what happens… but they do get to choose how they look at it 💪

Ask your 7th grader what scenario they built and how they changed their perspective — it might lead to a great conversation at home 😊y

✨ What We Did in 6th Grade Yesterday ✨

Yesterday in class, our 6th graders worked on something really important (and fun!) — learning how to dismantle negative self-talk 🧠💬

We talked about those little voices in our heads that say things like “I can’t do this” or “I’m not good enough”… and then we turned them into positive, powerful statements instead 💪

Students wrote negative thoughts, built them into “towers” with LEGO-style bricks, and then literally took them apart and rebuilt them into positive self-talk like:
➡️ “I can’t do this” → “I can try and get better”
➡️ “I always mess up” → “Mistakes help me learn”

We also had great discussions about:
• How negative self-talk affects our feelings
• When we notice it the most
• And how changing our words can change our mindset

It was awesome to see students opening up, supporting each other, and practicing ways to be kinder to themselves ❤️

Ask your child what positive self-talk they’re working on using — you might be surprised by their answer! 😊
