Not-for-profit hospices average 10% more nursing visits, 35% more social worker visits, and double the therapy visits per day as compared to for-profit hospices. They spend 25% more on comprehensive care per patient; admit all patients with a terminal illness, seven days a week; and provide no-cost bereavement services to all in the community.
