Veltex is a Licensed Behavioral Health Center in Mount Hope, WV. Our services are designed to meet the unique rehab needs of each individual client. Our team of medical professionals has years of experience in their respective fields, and are constantly updating their skills to stay current with the latest medical advancements. We are committed to providing the highest quality care to our clients.

This week in the Veltex spotlight, is our counselor, Jarrod Martin!
Jarrod would like to share the following:
"Hello. My name is Jarrod Martin. I am a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, WV and have been working in the mental health field for the last few years. I have a Bachelors degree in Bible and Theology as well as a Masters degree from Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope a Masters in Divinity as well as Counseling from Liberty University. Currently I am pursuing a Doctorate from Liberty as well as.
I have been married for over 21 years to my lovely wife who is a successful local photographer and we have 7 children, 3 of which we adopted. I am passionate about helping people regain their sense of purpose and self, and wade through their trauma and stories to help them reach their full potential in their recovery journeys. I do this by meeting with them on a regular basis for one on one sessions as well as multiple group classes per week. Its my privilege to serve the women here at Veltex."

Jarrod has been a wonderful addition to the Veltex team. He has such a soft and caring nature that really helps the residents relax, open up, and share, which really helps the healing process for each individual resident. Jarrod brings compassion, care, and laughter onto the campus here in Mount Hope. From telling dad jokes to just being witty, he heals not only with knowledge but with laughter.🥸 Veltex would like to thank Jarrod for bringing all of those things through the door each day he comes to work. 💐

✨✨Staff Spotlight✨✨
This week in the spotlight is Misty Moore. Misty works at Veltex as our Kitchen Manager.

She wanted to share the following with the community:
"Working at Veltex is more than a job - it is a calling, a purpose, and a privilege. Every day I walk through the doors, I'm reminded that I'm stepping into a space where hope is rebuilt, trust is restored, and lives are reclaimed. It's a place where people show incredible courage simply by choosing to try again and being able to stand with them in that process is one of the greatest honors of my life."

Misty has dedicated her life helping others overcome barriers and being an incredible advocate for those she serves. She also serves as the Director of an addiction ministry called Project HOPE (Helping Other People Elevate) at Heart of God Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Fred T. Simms. Project HOPE is also one of Veltex's many community partners.

Veltex would like to thank Misty for showing up to work each day with a positive attitude, full of compassion and care and for being such an amazing addition to our staff.

Meet Cassie Staten. Cassie works in our medical department as a LPN and our Nursing Supervisor and she wanted to share the following...
🌻
"I have had the honor of working at Veltex Recovery Group as the Nursing Supervisor for a little over a year now. I am a 33 year old mom to one daughter. I am currently attending New River Community College to further my nursing education. After completing that in December 2026, I will be pursuing my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree. I have worked in SUD treatment for around 8 years and I absolutely love it, it's my passion. I have the opportunity to provide a safe space where clients will get the quality care they deserve, with no judgement. It makes my heart happy to see all of the success, hope, and courage we're able to provide to our clients as a whole facility. I truly believe in second chances, even if you need a 3rd or 4th. I will forever strive to be the compassionate nurse that I would want to take care of my family."

Cassie is an amazing part of the Veltex team and we are so happy to have her with us. Not only does she bring medical knowledge and experience - she brings a warmth and compassion with her that can hardly be matched. We at Veltex want to thank you, Cassie, for ALWAYS being that safe space for those who need it.

Meet Brittany Sturgill. Brittany is our Receptionist/Intake Specialist here at Veltex. Brittany has been with us a year and a half. She is the person you speak with when you give us a call and she is the person that will sit with you and help you fill out your intake paperwork to insure you have the best possible chance at being accepted.

"My passion for the recovery community is rooted in my own personal recovery journey and the challenges of loving someone who struggled with substance use. I know firsthand the pain, resilience, and hope that come with both experiences. These moments taught me that recovery is not just about overcoming substance use but about rebuilding lives, restoring dignity, and creating a sense of belonging. Meet Jamie Foster! Jamie is one of our PRSS (Peer Recovery Support Specialists) at Veltex. Jamie has been with us for about 1 year and Jamie wanted to share the following -

"Today, I get to show up as someone who believes in recovery not just because I've studied it or worked in it, but because I have lived it. Every person who walks through our doors deserves to be seen, believed in, and treated with dignity and I am grateful to be part of a team that does exactly that. This work isn't easy but its worth it. Every time someone takes a step forward and chooses hope over fear, I am reminded why I do what I do. I am proud of the person I have become, grateful to those who have helped me get here, and committed to giving that same support back."

✨Staff Spotlight✨
This is Canaan Martin! Canaan has been with us here at Veltex for 8 months. He is in school for his Bachelors degree in Trauma Counseling and after graduating in June, he will be pursuing a Masters degree in Social Work. He is 20 years old and happily married to his lovely wife of 18 months.
Canaan states "I love working in SUD treatment because it is very important and is such a large issue, especially in southern West Virginia. I feel a strong calling to this line of work because I believe everyone makes mistakes and that doesn't make them bad people - just people in need of a loving, compassionate, helping hand to help guide them through sobriety. I will work diligently to help those around me and give them the tools they will need to reach long term sustained sobriety."🧰
We at Veltex are lucky to have such a compassionate and driven team member and want to thank Canaan for all of his hard work in school and at Veltex, to help build a better future for each resident that walks through our doors.

Staff Spotlight!!
Meet Laura Ferguson. Laura is our Utilization Reviewer which is a position on our administrative team. She evaluates the necessity and appropriateness of services, such as treatment plans, residential stays, or medications, using evidence - based guidelines and clinical protocols. Her role is ensuring efficient, high quality care while managing functions and preventing misuse of services.
Laura began working in the SUD recovery field of behavioral health because she fully believes that every person deserves a second chance at a peaceful, meaningful, and productive life. Having personal experience with dearly loved ones who suffer from SUD, she has empathy for the pain and chaos that SUD can cause individuals and their family members, as well as the direct impact SUD has on the community at a macro level. Laura is deeply passionate and dedicated to working with individuals who struggle with SUD and assisting them with regaining their lives, their physical health, mental health, and all around wellness.
Veltex Recovery Group is proud to have Laura on the team and would like to thank her for her endless compassion and dedication.
