There is another large eye drop recall for over-the-counter drops due to a lack of sterility.
We ALWAYS recommend sticking with name brand eye drops instead of generics- they largely do not have these issues. Examples of name brand drops include Optase, Systane, and Refresh.

The FDA said the eye drops were distributed by companies such as Kroger, Walgreens, H-E-B, Military Exchanges, and others.

• They can trap debris along the lash line
• Cleaning becomes more important (and harder)
• Some patients develop irritation or dryness

A few quick habits that make a big difference:

• Replace mascara every 3 months
• Don’t share eye makeup (ever)
• Remove makeup completely at night (we love Optase LIFE makeup remover!)
• Be gentle—rubbing = irritation

This is one of the most common things we troubleshoot with dry eye patients.
Small changes can help more than you’d think.
