Kids Are Great Dental

Kids Are Great Dental Pediatric and Orthodontic Dental Practice The dental practice was established in 1992 by Drs. Gina Lodolini and Neil Capolongo.

In 1996, the addition of Dr. Maritza Bianchi made our dynamic trio complete. Our building was constructed in 1882. The Amuso family members were the first to inhabit the building and call it home. Since then our building has housed several families, has been the site of employment for several professional offices and has even withstood a fire! In 2003, it was restored and remodeled into the Kids Are Great Dental building.

February is National Children's Dental Health Month, a reminder that prevention is the most caring step you can take! Routine check-ups with your dentist help us apply protective measures, such as fluoride, and teach your children proper brushing habits. We understand that finding time is tough, but a quick preventive visit now can save you time, worry, and expense later. Let’s make dental health a priority this month!

Winter fun is in full swing, but sledding and ice skating can sometimes lead to unexpected tumbles! If your child chips or knocks out a tooth, try to stay calm and call us right away. If a permanent tooth comes out, keep it moist in a small container of milk or saliva while you head to our office.

Want to introduce flossing without the fuss?

🧵 Try Floss Picks: Many kids find the colorful plastic picks much easier to handle than long strings.

🧵 Be a Role Model: Let them see you flossing your own teeth so they know it’s a normal part of the day.

🧵 Use Positive Praise: A little "High Five" after flossing goes a long way! Need a demonstration? We’re happy to show you some easy techniques at your next visit.

Make your child’s lunch both delicious and "dentist-approved" with these simple swaps:

🧀 Swap Chips for Cheese: Cheese adds calcium and cleans the teeth.
🍎 Swap Fruit Snacks for Whole Fruit: Real apples or berries don't stick to teeth like gummy snacks do.
💧 Swap Juice for Water: Water is the best way to rinse away lunch leftovers.
🥦 Add Veggies: Celery and cucumbers are like nature’s little toothbrushes!

We know the dentist's office can feel a little scary at first, which is why we’ve filled ours with things kids love. When a child feels comfortable in their environment, they are much more likely to relax during their check-up. Come by and see why our young patients love visiting us!

Want to make the 3-month toothbrush swap fun for your kids?

🗓️ Let them pick: Let your child choose a new color or a brush with their favorite character.

🗓️ Mark the calendar: Use a sticker to show them when it's time for a "New Brush Day."

🗓️ Check the bristles: If they look like a shaggy dog, it's time for a change! A new brush makes brushing more exciting and much more effective.

Between the cold wind outside and the dry heaters inside, many kids struggle with chapped lips and dry mouths during January. A dry mouth can actually make it easier for cavities to start because saliva is what washes away food bits. Encourage your little ones to sip water throughout the day to keep their mouths hydrated and healthy.
