Kids Are Great Dental

Kids Are Great Dental Pediatric and Orthodontic Dental Practice The dental practice was established in 1992 by Drs. Gina Lodolini and Neil Capolongo.

In 1996, the addition of Dr. Maritza Bianchi made our dynamic trio complete. Our building was constructed in 1882. The Amuso family members were the first to inhabit the building and call it home. Since then our building has housed several families, has been the site of employment for several professional offices and has even withstood a fire! In 2003, it was restored and remodeled into the Kids Are Great Dental building.

When it comes to complex procedures like a full tooth rebuild, experience matters. We combine technical expertise with a gentle touch to ensure the results are both functional and "remarkably brilliant."

We are so glad we could give this family's daughter her healthy smile back!

Did you know that some drinks marketed to kids and athletes are dental health danger zones? Sports drinks and even certain 100% fruit juices are highly acidic and packed with sugar. They can be a double-whammy for your child’s enamel.
Here are better alternatives:

💧 Water: The best drink for teeth, naturally!
🥛 Milk: Provides calcium for strong bones and teeth.
💦 Watered-down juice: If you must offer juice, dilute it heavily with water to cut down on acid and sugar.

Protect those pearly whites! Ask our team for more nutrition tips at your next visit.

: Did you know that tooth decay is the number one chronic disease in children?
It is actually five times more common than asthma!

Because it is National Children’s Dental Health Month, it is a great time to focus on prevention and keeping those "sugar bugs" away.

It's National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the best way to celebrate is by protecting your child's smile!

Remember, a healthy mouth helps your child eat, speak, and learn well. We partner with parents every day to teach kids that the dentist is a fun and safe place to learn about their teeth. Let’s work together to keep those young smiles bright!

Reading is a wonderful way to help your child feel brave and excited about their next visit to the dentist! 📚✨ Books can turn the "unknown" into a fun adventure, helping to ease any jitters before they even step into our office.

Here are a few dentist-approved favorites to add to your bedtime reading list:

🦖 "How Do Dinosaurs Say I'm Mad?" by Jane Yolen – A great way to talk about feelings and behavior in a fun, prehistoric way!

🐻 "The Berenstain Bears Visit the Dentist" by Stan & Jan Berenstain – A classic story that walks kids through exactly what to expect during a checkup.

🦷 "Brush, Brush, Brush!" – A sweet, rhythmic book perfect for toddlers learning the basics of a healthy routine.

🐯 "Daniel Goes to the Dentist" by Alexandra Cassel Schwartz – Follow Daniel Tiger as he learns that the dentist is there to help him stay healthy.

By reading these stories together, you are building a positive foundation for your child's oral health. It is all about making the dentist a friendly place where we work together to keep those "sugar bugs" away!

Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️
As parents, you can manage the sugar rush today without completely banning candy. Here are our top tips:

🍽️ Pair with a Meal: Eating candy as a dessert after a full meal helps protect teeth because saliva production is higher.
🍫 Go for Chocolate: It’s less likely to get stuck in the grooves of the teeth.
💦 Rinse and Brush: Follow up with water and supervise brushing for two minutes!

Enjoy the holiday, but remember that moderation and timing are key to protecting your child’s smile!

: Have you heard people say, "They're just baby teeth, they'll fall out"?
That's not entirely true! Baby teeth are vital for proper chewing, speaking, and helping your child’s jaw grow correctly. Most importantly, they act as guides—or space holders—ensuring the permanent teeth erupt in the correct spot. That’s why keeping them healthy until they naturally fall out is so important!

Give your child an extra layer of protection with dental sealants! Sealants are thin coatings that act like a shield to keep food and germs out of the deep parts of the teeth.

🛡️ They are painted on quickly and painlessly.
🦷 They can last for years with proper care.
🥕 They make it easier to keep teeth clean during snacking.

Contact us to see if sealants are right for your little one.
