Tip of the Week Tuesday!

Remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) uses digital tools, such as apps or wearable sensors, to track patient-reported symptoms and exercise adherence between visits. Therapists can bill for reviewing this data and communicating with patients using CPT codes 98975–98981. Spending just 20 minutes per month reviewing logs or dashboards and documenting clinical decisions provides a reimbursable way to enhance continuity of care — without adding in-clinic hours.

RTM helps patients stay accountable, supports individualized progression of home programs and offers therapists valuable insight into real-time function and recovery. It is especially beneficial for those managing chronic upper extremity conditions, post-surgical recovery or for those living in remote areas with limited access to in person care. RTM = Better adherence. Better data. Better outcomes.
