Meet Roxane Lewis, Associate Counselor at Recovery Works Merrillville, Indiana!

Roxie, as she prefers to be called, embodies what it means to walk the walk and talk the talk.

Her journey with Pinnacle began as a Peer Support Specialist. Through determination, discipline, and heart, she earned her CADAC II credential and transitioned into a counselor role. Recently, she passed her LMHC-A exam - another milestone in her continued growth.

Roxie consistently seeks to strengthen her clinical skills. She welcomes feedback, pursues knowledge from her supervisors, and embraces opportunities to improve. She understands that growth creates potential and leans into that potential daily.

Her passion for this work is deeply personal. Roxie openly shares that her spirit comes from her own walk through recovery. That lived experience fuels her compassion, authenticity and dedication to the patients she serves, and it shows in the way she leads each day.
She is often the first one in the door each morning, greeting patients with warmth and encouragement.

For patients, Roxie isn't just a counselor. She is steady encouragement when it matters most.

It was an inspiring day for Community Relations Manager Sheena Mayes at the Winter Conference hosted by Ridge Behavioral Health System!

There were important conversations around trauma, mental health and protecting vulnerable populations, all critical pieces of building healthier, safer communities. Keynote Speaker, Elizabeth Smart's message of resilience & healing affirmed the importance of coming together as a community.

Community Relations Coordinator Chris McKenzie and Nurse Practitioner Pam Myers were honored to attend the 2 year anniversary celebration of the CNX Foundation Substance Recovery Unit at Penn Highlands Healthcare Mon Valley. This space has become a lifeline for individuals with complex medical needs navigating substance use.

This week, Allison Harris and Cambri Bailey loaded up their car and headed out into two Indiana communities to meet our neighbors experiencing homelessness — bringing supplies, information and the message that it’s never too late to start their comeback story.

They were there to listen, to connect and to make sure they know support is available when they’re ready.💙
