When our furry loved ones are sick, we want them to get the best care possible.

That’s where compounding comes in. Custom medications can sometimes make all the difference in keeping pets healthy, happy, and stress-free!

Here’s why compounding is often the gold standard in pet care:
Safe Ingredients – Some inactive ingredients in human medications (like xylitol or propylene glycol) can be toxic to pets. Compounding ensures every ingredient is pet-safe.
Easier to Give – No more wrestling with pills! Medications can be flavored (think chicken 🐔 or fish 🐟) or made into liquids or gels for easier dosing.
Right Dose, Every Time – Pets come in all shapes and sizes! Compounding allows precise dosing made just for them.

At our compounding pharmacy, we work closely with your veterinarian to create personalized medications that make treatment safer and easier for both you and your pet.🐾

What is Metformin?

Metformin is commonly used to help manage PCOS, hirsutism (excess facial or body hair), and diabetes by lowering insulin levels and reducing circulating androgens.

Patients sometimes experience side effects such as nausea, bloating, or diarrhea when taking the medication orally, often leading them to stop treatment.

A topical (transdermal) form of metformin may offer an option for those who can’t tolerate oral medication. Applied to the skin in a permeation-enhancing base, it allows absorption without upsetting the stomach. Topical metformin may also help support both skin and hormone balance.

If you’re considering alternatives to oral metformin, your provider can collaborate with our pharmacists to help determine the best option for your needs.

Living with an Autoimmune Disease

Autoimmune diseases affect nearly 50 million Americans, and about 75% are women. These conditions occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells, leading to symptoms that can include:
- Pain & inflammation
- Fatigue
- Joint stiffness
- Skin issues
- Digestive problems

Common conditions include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS, Crohn’s disease, psoriasis, Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s, and more. Diagnosis can be challenging since symptoms often mimic other conditions; that’s why working closely with a trusted healthcare provider is so important. Talk to our compounding pharmacist for more information about how we can help.

💚 Are You Getting Enough Vitamin K?

Vitamin K is one of the most overlooked nutrients; however, it plays a vital role in your overall health and well-being!
Here’s what it helps support:
Bone Health – Activates proteins that bind calcium, helping strengthen bones and reduce fracture risk.
Brain Health – Concentrated in brain tissue, Vitamin K may support memory, cognitive function, and healthy aging.
Heart Health – Helps regulate inflammation and balance calcium to protect arteries and cardiovascular function.
Hormone Health – Vitamin K₂ supports estrogen metabolism, which may help ease symptoms of estrogen dominance.
Anti-Inflammatory Support – K₂ helps regulate inflammation and lower markers linked to heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune conditions.
Cellular Health – Promotes healthy cell growth, energy production, and may even support longevity.

While Vitamin K deficiency is rare, certain conditions and medications can affect how well your body absorbs it. Our compounding pharmacists can help personalize your supplement plan to support better balance and health. Have questions about vitamins and supplements? We’re here to help!

Breast Cancer Awareness: It’s All About Prevention, Detection & Support

October reminds us of the importance of taking charge of our own and others' breast health. At our compounding pharmacy, we believe knowledge + care can make a real difference.

🔍 Know the warning signs:
Lumps or masses in breast tissue
Changes to skin texture (dimpling, puckering, redness)
Ni**le changes: discharge, inversion, itching
Swelling or pain

📆 Take proactive steps:
Monthly self-exams and regular clinical breast exams
Screening mammograms when advised by your health provider
Understand your risk: family history, genetics, hormone factors, lifestyle choices

🥦 Lifestyle matters:
Healthy eating, staying active, keeping a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol all contribute to a lower risk.

🤝 You don’t have to do it alone:
Support networks are essential. In addition to family and friends, lean on providers and our pharmacy team for support and guidance.

When medications run short, compounding pharmacies step in.

Patients across the country are feeling the impact of critical drug shortages, which are often caused by manufacturing hurdles, supply chain issues, regulatory roadblocks, or unexpected surges in demand.

But there are options available. Compounding pharmacies are vital for ensuring that patients don’t suffer from delayed care or untreated conditions when commercial supplies are unavailable.

Healthcare providers are increasingly relying on these compounded solutions to ensure continuity of care, highlighting the importance of having high-quality, licensed compounding systems in place. If you are experiencing difficulties obtaining a medication, consult with our pharmacist to determine if a compounded option may be beneficial.

⚖️ Weight loss isn’t always as simple as diet and exercise.

Hormone shifts, insulin resistance, genetics, stress, and even poor sleep can all stand in the way of progress.

💡 The real solution? Getting to the root cause.

When lifestyle changes alone don’t deliver results, prescription medications paired with healthy habits may provide the added support you need. Talk with your healthcare provider to see if personalized options are right for you.

🌿 Why Quality Matters in Nutritional Supplements 🌿

Nutritional deficiencies can impact various aspects of health, including energy, mood, immune function, and overall well-being. While supplements can help fill the gaps, not all supplements are created equal.

High-quality supplements are designed to:
✅ Provide reliable, consistent dosing
✅ Use forms of vitamins and minerals your body can actually absorb
✅ Avoid unnecessary fillers, dyes, and additives

Working with our pharmacist to select the right supplements ensures that you receive the highest-quality products to manage your health.

💊 When it comes to your health, quality makes all the difference.

🔥 Living with pain isn’t the same as living with chronic pain.

We now understand that pain is more than a simple signal from an injury—it’s shaped by many factors, including:
🧠 Changes in the brain
⚡ Nervous system sensitivity
🌿 Immune system responses
🤝 Emotional and social influences

This shift in understanding means treatment can be more thoughtful and individualized. Through compounding, providers can access customized, non-opioid options designed to fit each patient’s unique needs, helping make pain management more personalized and adaptable.

Your journey with pain is unique, and your care should be as well.

Looking for ways to support skin health and renewal? Tretinoin, a vitamin A derivative, has been widely studied for its potential to:
- Increase skin cell turnover
- Improve texture and tone
- Address stubborn acne, fine lines, and sunspots

Available in multiple strengths, tretinoin can be tailored to individual needs, from beginners with sensitive skin to those targeting more advanced signs of aging.

⚠️ Like any treatment, it’s not one-size-fits-all. Tretinoin can cause irritation, dryness, and increased sun sensitivity, so consistent sunscreen use and guidance from a healthcare provider are essential.

💛 With proper use and monitoring, tretinoin may play a role in improving skin appearance and supporting overall skin health.
