TeacherCoach

TeacherCoach TeacherCoach was created to improve the lives of educators by integrating personal growth with profe If a student has stress at home, learning may be impacted.

If a teacher has stress at home, teaching may be impacted. At TeacherCoach we believe in addressing the needs of the whole person as opposed to their work life alone. If teachers are going to offer their best in the classroom, their health and well-being needs to be at its best. Traditional professional development offers strategies and solutions, but seldom does it stimulate a deeper understanding of why problems exist and how to make sustainable changes. How to address resistance, systemic influences, exteranal processes, and other significant elements of a learning environment, need to be part of any learning for an educator. Personal Growth/Professional Development (PGPD) is the new era of learning for educators. PGPD is a blending of issues that impact a teacher inside and outside of the classroom. Improving one’s health through physical and emotional health is just as important as how to manage a classroom or deal with a difficult parent. At the end of the day, teachers need to feel safe, prepared, and supported. Our PGPD programs differ from others in several ways:
• We address focus areas including family, self, relationships and work
• We ground our courses in theory, in addition to best practices
• We provide manageable segments of learning that are easily digestible
• Educators can take a course as many times as they need at no extra cost
• We offer learning topics that don’t exist in traditional PD
• We are less expensive than others
• Our trainings are all approved by a licensed psychologist with 25 years plus in clinical and educational setting
• We blend one-on-one coaching with online multimedia courses for different learning styles
• We continuously adapt and improve our training based on teacher feedback
• Our training can occur in the comfort of your own living space

Healing cannot begin when a threat, real or perceived, continues to exist. It cannot begin when there is an absence of hope for a better tomorrow, if we feel powerless to improve our lives, or when we can’t find sufficient joy to fuel our creativity and engagement.

Practical steps we can take now to expedite recovery in your school community.

Apathy and blame are two extreme forms of detachment, arising from a lack of hope and an unwillingness to be hurt. Over time these protective mechanisms interfere with meeting our needs and we become further discouraged.

For educators concerned about the state of education.

Every week in my role as CEO of TeacherCoach I’m meeting with struggling district leaders from around the country. These leaders are afraid of losing discouraged administrators, concerned for educator burnout with the restricted pipeline of new talent, astounded by the increasingly odd behavior of...

Published: March 28, 2021. The term ‘self-care’ has been increasingly used over the past six months, but what does it mean and how does it actually work? When used as an obligatory catch all, it can actually cause more harm than good. Telling somebody to practice self-care does not get us off th...

While we are still in the grip of a long- term crisis, we can leverage our learning of the recent past with actualizing future potential. Moving out of reactive mode means anticipating what is on the horizon.

While we are still in the grip of an ongoing crisis, unsure how basic physiological and psychological health will endure, we may begin anticipating what comes next. Even with an abatement of the immediate threat, the residual fallout will be felt for years to come.

With the close of the election and the apparent transfer of power, the ills of society are figural. Whether you feel vindicated or cheated, it’s clear we have considerable work to do on our evolutional continuum.
