Join me in welcoming to the team Ms Kelsey 🌿

Kelsey graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in 2023. In 2025, she got married just before graduating from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, where she earned her OTA degree. She has spent the last 4 years working as a patient access specialist at Atrium Health Cabarrus. During her free time, she loves to read, spend time with family and friends, and travel!

From Ms Kelsey~
I’m very excited to step into this role and help the children, parents, and caretakers in our community thrive. I look forward to continuing my growth and journey as a pediatric COTA!

❄️ Schedule changes can throw off anyone’s day — especially our kiddos!
With today’s delays and shifting routines, it’s totally normal to see a little extra wiggle, worry, or dysregulation. Here are a few simple strategies to stay grounded when things feel “off”:

✨ Stick to a mini-routine (even a short version helps!)
✨ Heavy work play to get the body organized
✨ Deep breaths or wall pushes for calming input
✨ Talk through the plan so transitions feel predictable
✨ Offer extra time and grace — today is different!

We had a great weekend with our Mount Pleasant community 🎄
Starting this rainy Monday off with fun card games
❤Turn taking
❤Self control
❤Emotional regulation
❤Visual perpetual skills
❤Oculomotor
❤Fine motor skills
It’s ok if your child doesn’t understand the concept of the actual game. Let them learn how to deal or hold the cards. Let them match or sort. This continues to address developmental skills 😀
Have an amazing day ❤

🎅🏼Christmas cookie fun in OT! 🎄
Today we incorporated our laminated cookie pieces into a holiday-themed obstacle course to build foundational skills in a playful way. Kiddos activated crawling patterns to support reflex integration, followed verbal directions to choose specific cookie pieces for executive-function practice, and worked on visual–perceptual skills through accurate piece placement and orientation. 🍪
Setting our little learners up for success, one festive cookie at a time!
Can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow at the Mt Pleasant parade 🛷❄️
