Your child’s spine could be getting damaged!
6th graders carrying 40 lb backpacks…
Grown men who do weight vest walking use 20 lbs!
This can be very problematic our children’s spines, and setting them up for massive health issues (and healthcare costs 💰) in the future!
What should you do?
1️⃣ Help your child GET STRONG - it wont just happen from carrying a heavy backpack with poor posture every day. That will be BAD. Kids as young as 4 can start strength training at appropriate amounts. Nothing replaces strength.
2️⃣ Get their spine CHECKED, regularly! Chiropractic care is ESSENTIAL to help children’s bodies. It’s safe for kids (when done with a trained professional) and immensely beneficial for their developing bodies.
3️⃣ Posture and Deload. There is no “perfect posture” but there are postures they should be in more of the time - and currently, most kids don’t. I already am seeing ARTHRITIS in TEENAGERS necks from looking down at their phone and sitting with terrible posture for long periods. Don’t be the posture police but help by getting them stand up desks, tripods for their phones/iPads and other tools to make it easier for them.
Best options: chiropractic care + strength training.
Strong alignment that stays that way.
How heavy is your child’s backpack? Do they have lockers at their school? Post to the comments! We want to know how many children are facing situations like this!
