MINDFULNESS is the ability to be fully present, and fully aware of where you are and what you're doing. It's not allowing the things going on around you to create distraction, reactions, or overwhelm.
Happy New Year! I hope 2022 is off to a great start for you!
If you've set resolutions for yourself, breaking them down into smaller and manageable objectives can help you to increase the likelihood of achieving your goals. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint!
It's important that these goals are established from your internal self, being MINDFUL of your own desires that will truly help you to "fill up", and not the external, that is so often rooted in myths, and are filled with pressure and unrealistic expectations such as perfectionism, busyness, and cookie-cutter roles.
If you didn't create a resolution, that's absolutely great too! Sometimes it's best to take the pressure off and "Just Be". Meet yourself where you are at, and love yourself while you are there. ❤
Whichever you are choosing, MINDFULNESS can be a very helpful tool. Research continues to show the numerous positive effects that MINDFULNESS has on our physical, mental, and spiritual health. To name a few specific examples: lower stress/anxiety/worry, improved relationships, healthier parenting, a better sense of peace, a better ability to be present, better memory (both short and long-term memory), improved focus and concentration, decreased physical pain, lowered blood pressure and heart rate, improved immunity, and SO MUCH more.
We all know how fast time goes! MINDFULNESS helps us to absorb more of the present moment and soak up the sweet moments. And MINDFULNESS also helps us to tolerate and manage the difficult moments in a healthier and more empowered way.
I hope your 2022 is filled with plenty of sweet moments to absorb and be MINDFUL of. 💗
