Trick question!
Juice has historically been thought of as "healthy" but the reality is that it is full of sugar! Sugar leads to problems-such as tooth decay and accelerated weight gain. In general, giving the fruit (instead of the juice) is a much better option (fiber & nutrients).

📚✨ It’s Reach Out & Read Launch Week! ✨📚

We are so excited to officially launch Reach Out & Read at our clinic!

Beginning this week, every child from birth through age 5 will receive a brand-new, age-appropriate book at their well visit. Our providers will also talk with caregivers about the importance of reading together every day to support healthy brain development and school readiness.

🎉 Special Launch Week Events:

📖 Monday Morning:
• The library will be here for story time
• Staff will help families sign up for library cards

📚 All Week Long:
• Community reading advocates will be reading to patients in the waiting area

🎟 Friday Raffle Drawing:
Families will have a chance to win a starter home library stack of books for:
• Infants
• Toddlers
• Preschoolers
• School-aged children

We are thrilled to celebrate literacy, learning, and connection with our community this week. Thank you for being part of it!

(Meredith here): A few years ago, I was helping out at my kids’ school during one of my favorite traditions—sending “candy grams” to friends for Valentine’s Day.

One moment has always stayed with me. A child in the class didn’t celebrate holidays, and instead of leaving him out, his friend thoughtfully customized his note. It wasn’t about Valentine’s Day at all—it simply said how glad he was to be his friend.

As we get closer to Valentine’s Day, let this be a reminder: tell the people in your life that you care about them—friends, parents, teachers, classmates.

It doesn’t have to be complicated or store-bought. A simple, intentional note can mean more than we realize.

I want to be transparent with you. When we asked our providers what their New Year’s resolution for patients would be, they all said the same thing.

We aren’t saying this problem is getting worse, and we aren’t here to shame or alarm anyone. But we are concerned about the risks of a world where we aren’t truly connected—where we’re not making memories together, talking face-to-face, or spending meaningful time as families.

Screens can be disruptive. They can quietly replace conversation, creativity, and connection. As providers—and as parents ourselves—we want to encourage another path.

One that prioritizes shared time, family routines, laughter, reading together, playing together, and being present with one another.

Small changes matter. Intentional moments matter. And we’re here to support families in choosing connection.
