Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital Welcome! We have been providing quality veterinary services with a relaxed, personal touch and small-town atmosphere in Cabarrus County since 1988 . Mt.

Pleasant Animal Hospital, owned by Dr. Dennis Orr, provides professional, compassionate care for your pets. We are located just 10 minutes from downtown Concord and 15 minutes from Rockwell, Albemarle, Locust & Midland. Dr. Orr has been treating dogs and cats in Cabarrus County since 1988. We have been at our current location since 2007. Our hospital is 6400 sq ft with modern updated amenities. We provide quality veterinary services in a more relaxed, personal touch and small-town atmosphere. The doctors at Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital have education and experience in multiple aspects of veterinary medicine. Combined with our long-term, experienced, well-trained staff, this ensures that your pet will receive complete care. We primarily operate on an appointment based schedule and currently have two doctors on staff which means that we can only see a set number of patients in order to give the quality time needed. We will always put the best interest of the pet first, so if our schedule is full, we will refer you to another veterinary clinic or emergency hospital. We are associated with CEVC -- Cabarrus Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Kannapolis, and Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte for referrals for medical/surgical specialists when needed. We can provide your pets with almost everything from a basic Rabies vaccination to complete annual vaccinations; heartworm and intestinal parasite testing; spay/neuter surgeries; in-hospital laboratory testing; and out-patient and in-patient medical care. We have the latest digital radiographic equipment to provide fast and efficient x-rays for your pet when needed, and a dual surgical/therapeutic laser. We are working hard to provide you and your pet a positive veterinary experience. We understand that bringing your pet to a hospital can be a stressful time for both you and your furry family member. Our compassionate staff is committed to doing everything possible to make your pet comfortable. If you have any questions about our veterinary services or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us today!

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

On November 6, Dr. Orr spoke with Erin, a town of Mount Pleasant official, after which a road worker came into our hospital and stated that he was instructed by his supervisor to inform us 1 lane from the red light at 73 & Main to our hospital would remain open and our parking lot would not be blocked.

If you are traveling from Concord on 73 E., at the red light for the interchange with Hwy 49 (at Food Lion) you will have to turn left onto the 49N ramp. You will proceed north on 49 to the next red light at the Hardee’s. You will turn right onto Main Street and travel to the red light at the 73&Main restaurant. Then you can turn right (go around the barricades) onto the one lane of Franklin Street and travel up to our main parking lot.

For those coming from north east or south of our hospital, you can come to the red light at 73&Main restaurant and continue straight or turn past the barricades onto the one lane of W. Franklin St. and up to our main parking lot.

REMEMBER at certain times of the day, traffic can be backed up on the main street part so please please allow extra time when coming to your appointment.

! ATTENTION CLIENTS - IMPORTANT TRAFFIC INFORMATION !

Beginning NEXT MONDAY October 27, our street - W. Franklin Street (NC Hwy. 73) between Main Street and Halifax Street, will be closed for approximately 8 weeks, while a much needed new waterline is installed by the town of MP. Access for local businesses including our animal hospital will be maintained, but caution and patience will need to be exercised. Please please allow plenty of EXTRA time when coming to our animal hospital for an appointment. This is an extremely busy road and traffic can be stopped for 5-10 minutes at a time. We don’t know The exact plan, but you may have to inform the road traffic sign holder where you are going so that they will let you through. If coming from Albemarle, Locust/Midland area, or from the direction of the old MP middle school/Hardee’s, if you are not allowed at the center stoplight to get onto W Franklin Street, you may have to use N. Main St. and then turn on N. Walnut St. and then turn left on N College Street to then turn left on W. Franklin St. just above Our hospital. Please call us if you have any trouble accessing our main parking lot. Thank you for your understanding.

Individuals who work in the veterinary medicine field face emotional and physical challenges that their clients and the general public are not aware of. However, here is an example of a delightful experience we were privileged to have at MPAH today. Feel free to reply with a caption that you think appropriately describes this 😀

We are excited about the mural installed on the side of our animal hospital designed by our friend, local digital artist Gib Miller. Gib designed this artwork using historical photos from the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society Museum. We are grateful for the hours and talent that Gib provided us plus grateful to the Museum for preserving the history of our Mount Pleasant community.
