It's our first 𝓢𝓽𝓪𝓯𝓯 𝓢𝓹𝓸𝓽𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 of the year and we're so excited to introduce Courtney Hillen, our new Certified Nurse Midwife working at our Lexington office! 💙 Courtney attended the University of South Carolina and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing to become a Registered Nurse then went on to Emory University where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.

With over 20 years of experience, Courtney says she pursued a career in nursing because she knew she wanted to work in women’s health and started out as a labor and delivery nurse. She says she’s passionate about helping women achieve their dreams of starting a family, which is what drew her to the fertility field. She always encourages patients to never give up on their dreams of having a family, “I think it’s important for patients to feel supported and know that we are cheering for them along the way.”

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, playing tennis and hanging out with her goofy golden retriever and two happy rescue dogs. We love working with you Courtney!

Do you know what a semen analysis actually evaluates? 🔬
Most semen analyses provide a lot of information about the quality and quantity of both semen and the s***m it contains. Some of the things they measure are:

🧫 How much semen a man produces (volume)
🧫 The total number of s***m in the semen sample
🧫 The number of s***m in each milliliter of semen (concentration)
🧫 The percentage of s***m that are moving (motility)
🧫 The analysis can also show whether you have an infection in your reproductive system or not

Welcome to Coastal Fertility Specialists. Cofounders Dr. John Schnorr and Dr. Michael Slowey started CFS in the spring of 2012 in an effort to provide the highest quality of reproductive endocrinology care possible. With the addition of Dr. Heather Cook and Dr. Jessica McLaughlin, we continue to build on that ideal. Our offices are located in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Lexington, Myrtle Beach, SC and Savannah, GA. CFS consists of a clinical team built around the core principal of patient care and satisfaction. Our dedication to the best possible care is demonstrated by our nursing team that includes seven registered nurses with collectively over 50 years of reproductive endocrinology nursing experience.
