Helen Irene Sorensen
December 15, 1943-April 9, 2026

Helen Irene Sorensen, 82, of Mount Pleasant, passed away April 9, 2026, at home with family nearby-just the way she would have wanted it.

Helen was born on December 15, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Wesley and Verla Marx. She spent most of her life right here in Sanpete Valley, where she built a life defined by grit, humor, and a level of stubbornness that anyone from this valley would recognize immediately. Once Helen made up her mind, there wasn't much point arguing-but if you did, she'd probably enjoy that too.

She had a knack for keeping her hands busy and her mind sharp. Whether it was diamond painting, counted cross-stitch, or crochet, Helen was always working on something. She was tough to beat at cribbage or chicken foot, and she knew it. Games at Helen's house were competitive, a little loud, and always worth showing up for.

Her home was a place people drifted into and stayed awhile. There was usually something going on, and if there wasn't, Helen would fix that. She loved a good laugh and was known to stir things up just enough to keep life interesting. The stories her friends tell about her are the kind that start with, "You won't believe what Helen did ... "

Helen loved her sports and stuck by her teams-the Utah Jazz and the Denver Broncos-through good seasons and bad. She also had a bit of a wandering streak and made it as far as Alaska and Africa, bringing back stories and, more often than not, something with an elephant on it. She had a real fondness for elephants-strong, steady, and not easily pushed around-which, if you knew Helen, makes a lot of sense.

She is survived by her brothers Gordon Marx, Farrel Marx (Elizabeth), and Robert Marx
(Kathryn); her son Ronald Wesley Sorensen and daughter-in-law Patti; and her grandchildren, whom she loved in her own steady and unwavering way.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Sorensen; her children Alan and Paula; her grandson Tommy; her parents Wesley and Verla Marx; her older sister LaRaine; sister-in-law Loretta; and her longtime companion Charlie Eaton.

The family would like to thank GoodLife Senior Living for the care they provided. Helen will be missed in all the ways that matter most-in the quiet moments, the card games, the stories, and the kind of presence that doesn't quite leave a place when it's gone.

A private graveside service will be held at a later time. Online condolence at rasmussenmortuary.com

DELRAY MILLER
March 24, 1936 – March 14, 2026

Delray Miller returned home to greet his wife and parents on March 14, 2026. He patiently and quietly endured to the end.

Delray was born and raised in Manti, Utah. He was the oldest of six children. He attended school and helped his father on the farm during his growing up years. Delray served four years in the U.S. Air Force with three of those years being stationed in Germany. He also traveled through many countries in Europe and the Middle East while serving. Delray attended vocational school in Provo, Utah, where he met his wife, Sheila, who was attending BYU at the time. Delray graduated as an electronic technician. He worked 31 years for Federal Aviation Administration and provided support for the Instrument Landing System at Salt Lake International Airport. Delray married Sheila in the Manti Temple in 1959 and settled in Granger, Utah, which later became West Valley City. He spent 61 years there.

Delray loved growing a garden, planting flowers and harvesting and drying fruit. He loved camping, motorcycle riding, and hiking. Delray could build or fix anything whether it be electrical, mechanical, or anything else for that matter. He was extremely patient with children and was the desired playmate of his nephews, nieces, and grandchildren.

We’re happy that he and mom are reunited but will miss him sorely. Survived by daughter, Melanie (Jeff) Miles; son, Brian (Debbie) Miller; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with one on the way. We thank all those who took the time to visit, call, or send cards and letters while he aged—it meant a lot!

Delray will be honored by his family in a private service. Interment is Fairview City Cemetery in Fairview, Utah, next to mom.

It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Gerald Safrans, age 80, who left this world on November 24, 2025. A proud veteran of the Navy, Jerry served his country with honor, courage, and steadfast dedication.

During his years of service, Jerry exemplified the values of duty, integrity, and sacrifice. Whether through acts known or quiet contributions never recorded, he helped protect the freedom and safety of others, leaving a legacy of service that will not be forgotten. Hailey Kay Duckworth, 36, of Lindon, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on August 9, 2025. She was born on November 25, 1988, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Wayne and Paula Wilcock — the youngest of their three children.
Hailey grew up in Sandy, Utah, alongside her two older brothers, Tyrell Wilcock and Orrin Wilcock. From a young age, she was bold, fearless, and full of fire. Growing up with brothers, she never backed down from a challenge and more often than not outdid them. Though a tomboy as a child, Hailey grew into a woman of grace, beauty, and confidence — always dressed to impress and lighting up any room she entered.
She graduated from Alta High School in 2007. Hailey had a magnetic energy that drew people in. She loved adventure — riding dirt bikes, shooting guns, taking spontaneous road trips — and she lived for loud music, laughter, and making memories. She was the life of every party and the friend everyone could count on.
Hailey was married to Landon Duckworth on May 24, 2013. Though they later divorced, together they had three sons — Justin (11), Weston (9), and Barrett (7) — who were the center of her world. Being their mother was her greatest joy and most important role, and she gave them her everything.
Recently, Hailey became engaged to the love of her life, Garrett Gordon, during a family vacation in one of her favorite places — Florida. Their love was deep, joyful, and full of hope for the future.
Hailey is survived by her three beloved sons, Justin, Weston, and Barrett; her fiancé, Garrett Gordon; her loving parents, Wayne and Paula Wilcock of Fairview, Utah; her brothers, Tyrell Wilcock (Megan), and nephews Rhett and Jackson; and Orrin Wilcock (Lauren), and nieces and nephews Reagan, Grey, Brooks, and Messer.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Lionel and Cassie Jensen, and her uncle Randall Jensen, all from Rexburg, Idaho; and her grandfather, Jack Wilcock of South Jordan, Utah.
Hailey was bold, loyal, and loving — a true firework. She lived life all in and left a mark on every

heart she touched. Her spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered. At this time, all services will be held at a later date.
