Do you find it more difficult to eat healthy while traveling? Between a conference, a speaking engagement and our son’s basic training graduation, I traveled a LOT in October. I’d like to share some tips that will hopefully keep you on track.

Pictured you’ll see avocado toast with egg, chipotle sauce and a side salad. This is from Hatch in Oklahoma. If you ever get a chance, GO! It was so good.

We also did a Chick-fil-A run. I got the side kale salad and grilled chicken.

Salads are usually easy enough to find, but I can only eat so many 😂. If you do buy a salad, avoid iceberg lettuce and instead get romaine, spring mix, spinach, kale…
A steak with steamed veggies is great.
And for breakfast it’s usually easy enough to find fruit and eggs. Basically, focus on real, whole food with simple ingredients.

Food I bring with me:
▪️Protein powder with a shaker bottle. And I stopped at the store to pick up some almond milk. Ultimate shake is my favorite protein powder, since it also contains fiber, vitamins and minerals. See a link in comments.
▪️Grass fed beef sticks
▪️Nuts and seeds
▪️Protein bars
▪️Grain free granola (This is my favorite: https://amzn.to/4oq3s6c)
▪️And whenever I can, I stop at a grocery store and get apples, clementines, bananas, mini bell peppers…no need for knife and cutting board.

And I ALWAYS have my enzymes with me. 🙂

It’s another case of “sauté whatever veggies we have” 😂. Today we have Brussels sprouts, onions, cabbage and cherry tomatoes. My favorite fat to sauté in is clarified butter (ghee), because it has a high smoke point and rich flavor!

Confused about healthy vs unhealthy fats? This is a helpful guide. My only swap would be to save olive oil as a salad dressing, since it’s not as stable at higher temperatures. And I would add avocado oil as a safer cooking oil.
