Key Aspects of American Heart Month

Significance of Red: National Wear Red Day, observed on the first Friday of February, encourages wearing red to raise awareness for women's heart health and to represent strength against heart disease and stroke.
History: Initiated in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, who himself had suffered a heart attack, to combat the nation's leading cause of death.

How to Get Involved:
Wear Red: Participate in National Wear Red Day.

Get Screened: Know your numbers, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and BMI.
Risk Factors & Prevention: Key risk factors include smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and inactivity. Prevention involves eating a healthy, low-sodium diet, exercising regularly, and scheduling check-ups.

It is with a heavy heart that we need to share news of the passing of our amazing owner and friend, Steve Whitaker. He devoted his life to giving his community access to the best care possible. Please remember his family, friends, and work family during this difficult time.

Hi, folks. This year, as a way to give back to the community, we are taking donations for infants through teenagers for new hats, coats, gloves, and socks. We will have a box set-up in the lobby for these donations. Each donation is greatly appreciated.
