Cathy discovered that few affordable opportunities for counseling existed in the area, causing many people to travel to receive services that were often expensive. Cathy wanted to offer therapy to those who could not afford to travel, so she created a sliding fee structure that ranges from $25 - $100 per session and is based on the individual's income.

Kentucky Gives Day is just 19 days away, and we are excited to share this year’s focus: Camp BraveHearts 2026!

Camp BraveHearts is designed to provide children with a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where they can build meaningful connections, strengthen emotional skills, and grow in confidence through positive self-talk and encouragement. It’s more than just a camp—it’s an opportunity for kids to feel seen, supported, and empowered.

We often hear from parents who would love for their child to attend but find the cost to be a barrier. That’s where your generosity makes a lasting impact. Scholarships allow us to open the doors of Camp BraveHearts to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate.

When you give to NewSong on May 12th, you are directly helping a child learn to express their feelings, connect with others, and grow in confidence. Every donation, big or small, plays a role in making this possible.

Our goal this year is $5,000, which will provide full camp scholarships for 30 children to attend Camp BraveHearts at no cost to their families.

Over the next two weeks, be sure to follow along on our social media pages for more details about how to donate, how funds will be used, and the many ways you can help make a difference in the lives of children in our community.

Together, we can create a space where every child has the chance to thrive.

NewSong would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to FAWN for her incredible generosity and faithful support! She recently reached out to offer her help, and when we shared a specific need, she graciously stepped in and met it. We are so grateful for her thoughtfulness and willingness to respond in such a meaningful way. Fawn continues to be one of our strongest supporters, and we deeply appreciate her kindness, encouragement, and heart to serve.

Today we want to celebrate and honor Rick Mattox! After 7 years of faithful service at NewSong, he is officially retiring (again!). While we are sad to see him step away, we are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact he has made on our team and the many lives he has touched.
It’s no exaggeration to say that almost every day someone shares how much they appreciate Rick. From his “creative compliance” during our Christmas contest to the steady wisdom and encouragement he offers, he will truly be missed. If you’d like to share a note of appreciation for Rick, we invite you to leave it in the comments below!

It’s Play Therapy Week! To celebrate, NewSong hosted a luncheon with Montgomery County School Counselors at the Presbyterian Post. We are so grateful to Rev. Jennifer Powell and the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Sterling for sharing their space with us. The gathering was a wonderful time of fellowship, conversation, and learning!
