Saint Joseph Health is excited to welcome Kacie Heichelbech, PA, to Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Lexington. A Louisville native, Heichelbech knew she wanted to have a career in medicine, and learned about the role of physician assistants (PAs) while in college. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Louisville in 2021, Heichelbech served in roles as a physical therapy technician, a medical scribe and clinical assistant before earning her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2025.

Heichelbech says she chose primary care because it gives her an opportunity to address the whole person and treat patients with a wide range of ailments. She emphasizes preventive care, patient education and individualized care, saying that developing a rapport with her patients is something she feels passionate about.

"I've always had the instinct to want to help people, and caring for others comes naturally to me," she said. "My goal is to give my patients the tools, knowledge, and support they need for them to feel empowered in taking charge of their health."

Welcome to the team, Kacie!

Flaget Memorial Hospital and Flaget Memorial Hospital Auxiliary celebrated the contributions of Ann King, a devoted volunteer with over 10,000 service hours donated to the hospital’s volunteer programs since 2005, during a retirement ceremony Thursday. King, now 85, served as volunteer coordinator during her years of service and launched the Buddy Bears Program, which still provides hundreds of handmade stuffed bears each year to help comfort young patients at the hospital.

Ann leaves a legacy of impact not only within the walls of the hospital, but within our community and through the many lives she has touched with humankindness and compassion. She describes herself as a “people person” and has been instrumental to the growth of our volunteer team, creating opportunities for everyone to get involved and make a difference.

While Ann enjoys her deserved retirement, she plans to continue making bears for the Buddy Bears Program and visit with friends and colleagues at Flaget often. Thank you, Miss Ann, for decades of dedicated service, and for embodying our mission in every kind word, stuffed bear and smile you have shared with our patients and families.

Saint Joseph Health is excited to welcome Mollie Moss, APRN, to Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Wi******er. A Michigan native, Mollie moved to Kentucky with her family about 15 years ago. After graduating from Berea Community School, she pursued a career in nursing at Eastern Kentucky University, where she discovered a strong interest in patient education as a key part of quality care. While working as a registered nurse in Richmond, Mollie fulfilled her goal to return to school, earning her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Frontier Nursing University.

Mollie says she chose family practice because she likes caring for people from birth to older adulthood. She says she values building strong relationships with her patients and recognizes the importance of addressing both physical and spiritual needs.

“My goal is to understand what’s going on with my patients and help them live their best lives,” Mollie said.

Welcome to the team, Mollie!
