Christmas at Mountain Glen

Prime rib roasts slow with a savory grace, lobster tails steam, a feast to embrace.

Baked potatoes split, with butter that gleams, green beans fresh cut, like summer day dreams.

Desserts tempt the table —chocolate and cream, each bite a whisper, a holiday dream.

Friends gather close, their hearts all aglow, as stories and smiles through the daytime flow.

At Mountain Glen, where memories blend, the spirit of Christmas will never end.

Taste, love, and laughter — all intertwined, a feast for the soul, both rich and kind.

How the Grinch Stole Mountain Glen’s Christmas Tree.

At Mountain Glen where retirees dwell,
A sudden green image ran fast past the residents and nearly fell

It was barely noon time—and what a sight to see!—the Grinch rolled in and swiped their tree.

He tiptoed past the pudding and pie,
Avoiding the cameras (that clever guy).

He snatched the tinsel, lights, and bows, then tripped on a chair—right in front of his nose!

But fear not, dear folks, for joy won the fight—
The residents caught him (oh, what a sight!).

They fed him cookies and warm delight,
And the Grinch returned the tree that very same night.

Now every year at Mountain Glen, they will tell the tale and laugh again

Of how one Grinch with sneaky glee,
Brought double cheer—and laughter —times three!

Supporting our First Responders Mount Vernon Police Department - WA & the Mount Vernon Fire Department today by delivering an incredible and delicious homemade lunch! On the menu: homemade baked lasagna, fresh-cut green beans, warm garlic bread, crisp Caesar salad, and rich tiramisu for dessert. Grateful for all they on behalf of our residents.

Looks like the Grinch has officially made Mountain Glen his home for the holidays!

One frosty morning up at Mountain Glen
The Grinch came sneaking ‘round again.
He tip-toed in with a grumpy grin,
Thinking, “I’ll ruin Christmas so let the fun begin!”
He eyed the wreaths with a sneaky delight,
Tried swiping cookies (took one bite)
But every resident smiled his way-
“Good morning, dear Grinch! How’s your day?”
He huffed and puffed, his plans undone,
For Mountain Glen residents can’t be out funned!
They offered cocoa, warm and sweet,
A rocking chair, and a place to put his feet,
Before he knew it, he laughed out loud
The Grinch! Laughing! Shocking the crowd!
His small green heart began to grow
Three sizes larger, don’t you know?)
So now each year he comes right in,
Not to ruin Christmas but to smile with a grin
At Mountain Glen, He is part of the crew
Because kindness, it seems, is contagious too.

Thank you once again to the Mount Vernon Police Department for inviting our Mountain Glen residents to support the Graffiti Abatement Mural Project. This beautiful street art initiative not only enhances the Mount Vernon community but also gives our residents a meaningful opportunity to help make a difference!
