Of course we are there to guide and help, but definitely love to support families if they want to catch their own babies.( and of course, if you are that mom whose baby came super fast and your baby was born into yours or dad’s hands on the bathroom floor before you could make it into the Birth Center or before we could make it to you ,you know who you are) this sticker is definitely for you!

When I first bought the business, I thought that it was important to keep the legacy of the Mount Vernon Birth Center. However, over the last few years, I have learned that people associate the name with the hospital and on this anniversary of buying the business three years ago, it’s time to make that separation fully known and clear. We are a freestanding Birth Center ran by midwives. We give excellent, wholistic, individualized care to low risk mothers and families. Welcome to the Mothership! 916 s. 3rd street Mount Vernon WA.

For the record, July was named in honour of Roman general Julius Caesar (born on the 12th). Prior to that, it was called Quintilis, because it was the fifth month of the 10-month calendar.

Perks of midwifery are home visit adventures! and I had a blast yesterday running around Bellingham and Oak Harbor visiting sweet postpartum families and stopping for food and beach time along the way. It’s summer and yarrow season! We stopped at Deception Pass to harvest some yarrow and collected rocks on the beach. ‘Twas a balm for the soul kind of day ✨

Calling all June babies!

Some fun facts for people born in June. I’m gearing up for Onion Rings Day on June 22nd. 😆

For the record, June’s birthstone can also be alexandrite because rock people can’t make up their minds. It’s a beautiful stone, though, so I’ll cut them some slack.
