Caring for Your Mental Health This Holiday Season ❄️
The holidays can hold moments of joy—and they can also bring stress, loneliness, grief, or anxiety. However you’re feeling right now is valid. You are not alone, and you don’t have to navigate this season by yourself.
If it feels helpful, here are a few gentle ways to support your mental well-being:
• Notice and name your emotions—there’s no right way to feel, and it’s okay if the holidays are hard
• Plan ahead for challenging moments by identifying what helps you feel grounded (calling someone you trust, taking a walk, listening to music, or resting)
• Lean into cultural traditions, spiritual practices, or healing rituals that bring comfort and connection
• Stay connected with community in ways that feel safe and supportive for you
• Check in on others, especially those who may be feeling isolated
• Honor your needs by setting boundaries, resting when you can, eating nourishing food, and staying hydrated
• If substances have been a coping tool in the past, consider what supports your safety and well-being during this time
