Life is funny how it circles around. My third son turned 20 on the 8th. I am reminded of my wonderful Midwife Norla. She showed me what it looks like for a provider to be calm and confident and believe in my abilities as a woman to bring my baby into this world. She was there to keep my baby, and I safe and simultaneously held us in such loving kindness. I didn’t know back then that that experience would change my whole life. I traveled 2 hours to see her at the Topeka Birth Center. I was determined to have my second VBAC and she supported me fully. She showed me that there is more than the hospital experience. That you can have an empowering physiologic birth. That birth can enhance you if you let it.
