For over 70 years, the Order of the Eastern Star have guided and supported our facility to make life better for everyone who enters our doors. Since 1951, we have been providing quality health care and treatment in a comfortable and home-like environment. We provide a complete healthcare experience and are Joint Commission Accredited as the only nursing care facility in Knox County to receive this honor. The Ohio Eastern Star community is home to 195 residents for skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, home health and independent apartment living. We employ 220 employees and play an active role in participating and supporting community events through The Glenn A. Gallagher Center--a premiere event center for banquets, weddings, and business meetings. There’s nothing quite like a timeless Easter tradition to bring smiles across generations!

At The Ohio Eastern Star Home, our Elders enjoyed a joyful afternoon of Easter egg dyeing, surrounded by laughter, color, and creativity. With the help of our wonderful Life Enrichment Team and supportive family members, the room was filled with vibrant hues and even brighter spirits.

One of the most heartwarming moments of the day was seeing a great-granddaughter join in the fun—sharing in a special tradition and creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

From pastel masterpieces to shared stories and smiles, this beloved seasonal activity continues to be a meaningful way for our Elders to celebrate Easter and connect with loved ones, reminding us that joy truly spans generations!

Springtime joy filled the air at The Ohio Eastern Star Home as residents gathered with their loved ones for a beautiful Easter Dinner celebration!

Residents were delighted to invite family and friends to join them for this special occasion, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere full of laughter, connection, and cherished memories.

Guests enjoyed a delicious catered meal prepared by the talented Chef Arya, served with care and smiles by our dedicated Life Enrichment Team alongside staff members. The dining room was transformed with lovely spring décor, bringing the season to life in every detail.

Adding to the magic of the afternoon, guests were treated to live music by Lane Champa, whose beautiful violin performance created the perfect soundtrack for this meaningful gathering.

It was a truly heartwarming celebration of community, family, and the joy of the Easter season.

Instructors from the Brown Family Environmental Center transformed our Community Room into a hands-on activity center where residents crafted and decorated their very own birdhouses. These beautiful creations will soon brighten rooms or hang outside windows, welcoming the sights and sounds of spring.

The activity brought residents together through creativity, conversation, and shared laughter—proving once again that meaningful engagement builds lasting connections.

Girl Scout cookie season wasnt't over just yet!

Our residents gathered in the Community Room for a Girl Scout Taste Testing event hosted by our amazing Life Enrichment team. From classic favorites to new surprises, everyone had the chance to sample a variety of cookies and cast their vote for the ultimate favorite.

Laughter, friendly debates, and plenty of sweet treats filled the room as residents shared memories and discovered new favorites. The excitement built as votes were counted— and the winner was Thin Mints, with Samoas coming in at a close second.
A big thank you to our Life Enrichment team for creating such a joyful and engaging experience for our residents. Days like today remind us that it’s the little things that bring the biggest smiles.

Pine Hill Independent Living, located on the campus of The Ohio Eastern Star Home, will host an engaging and informative seminar, Exploring the State Parks of Ohio, on Thursday, April 23 at 2:00 PM.
Led by a representative from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), this presentation will introduce attendees to the wide variety of outdoor experiences available throughout Ohio’s state park system. From scenic hiking trails and peaceful fishing spots to birdwatching, boating, and seasonal events, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty and recreational opportunities found right here in Ohio.
In addition to exploring the parks themselves, the seminar will highlight meaningful volunteer opportunities for those interested in giving back. Whether assisting with conservation efforts, helping maintain trails, or supporting educational programs, attendees will learn how they can stay active and involved while making a positive impact.
This seminar offers a wonderful opportunity for residents and community members alike to discover new ways to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature, and engage in purposeful activities.

We are incredibly honored to announce that The Ohio Eastern Star Home has been named the 2026 Business of the Year at the annual Knox County Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala!
This unforgettable evening, themed The Roaring Twenties, brought together many of our community’s outstanding organizations to celebrate leadership, innovation, and service.
The Business of the Year Award recognizes a Chamber member business with more than 50 employees that has operated for over five years, consistently contributes to Chamber and community initiatives, demonstrates integrity and fair business practices, and demonstrates innovation and strong management in solving business challenges.

In-A-Jam to Perform Free Community Concert at Ohio Eastern Star Home
The Ohio Eastern Star Home invites residents, families, and the greater community to enjoy a lively afternoon of music with a free concert by In-A-Jam on Tuesday, December 23rd at 2:00 p.m. The performance will take place in the Community Room at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
In-A-Jam, an eclectic acoustic/electric trio from Delaware, Ohio, features the musical talents of Ken Schwartz, Annette Schwartz, and Rolf Remlinger. Known for their engaging performances and wide-ranging repertoire, the group performs music spanning from the 1950s to today, offering a well-loved mix of rock, country, folk, and pop favorites and some seasonal tunes mixed in.
The concert is free and open to the public, making it a wonderful opportunity for community members of all ages to come together and enjoy live music in a welcoming setting.
