🌟 Resident of the Week: Sharri Smith 🌟

Sharri Smith has been with us at Lawrence County Manor since January, and we’re happy to have her as part of our community.

Sharri spent most of her life in Webb City and grew up with one sister and one brother. She has always enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors, especially riding horses and motorcycles.

Sharri preferred not to have her photo taken, so instead we’re sharing a photo of a horse she liked, since riding horses was one of her favorite activities.

We’re glad Sharri is part of the LCM family. 💛

🌟 Resident of the Week: Melvin Cruts 🌟

This week, we are proud to highlight Melvin Cruts.

Melvin grew up in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, as the youngest child with four sisters and one brother. He jokes that growing up with so many sisters was like having five mothers looking out for him.

Melvin and his wife raised a wonderful family together with four biological children and one adopted son. After graduating high school, Melvin spent time traveling with the wheat harvest before beginning his military service. He served six years in the National Guard followed by eight years in the Air Force.

After his time in the military, Melvin worked in tech support for Entel, a job that allowed him to travel extensively to 44 states and 13 countries. He later spent 39 years working for IBM. Melvin is also an inventor and holds multiple patents, showcasing his creativity and innovation.

Melvin has also been involved in the Lawrence County Manor community. He served three years on the LCM Board of Directors.

We are honored to have Melvin as part of our Lawrence County Manor family. 💛

Summer is a dedicated night shift CNA who works hard behind the scenes to ensure our residents are comfortable, safe, and well cared for through the night. While many are sleeping, Summer is busy providing compassionate care and support whenever it’s needed.

Her commitment, reliability, and caring attitude make a big difference for both our residents and our team.

🌟 Resident of the Week: Jerry Teague 🌟

This week, we’re proud to feature Jerry Teague.

Jerry was raised in Jay, Oklahoma, and grew up as the oldest of 12 children. Family has always been an important part of his life. He went on to have 8 children of his own and now has an incredible 52 grandchildren.

For most of his life, Jerry worked on a farm raising horses and cattle, something he truly enjoyed. Over the years, he has also picked cotton and even spent time working at a wild animal safari.

Jerry has always loved the outdoors. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding horses, hobbies that reflect his lifelong connection to nature and farm life.

We are grateful to have Jerry as part of our Lawrence County Manor family. 💛

In our Memory Care unit, you’ll often find residents enjoying gentle music, working on simple crafts, sitting together in comfortable spaces, or just taking in a peaceful afternoon. There’s no rush, no pressure, just a steady, calm rhythm to the day.

These everyday moments are what make our Memory Care unit feel safe, familiar, and supportive for those who call it home. 🏠

🌟 Resident of the Week: Scottie Downs 🌟

This week, we’re proud to feature Scottie Downs.

Scottie has spent most of his life in Miller, Mt. Vernon, and Willard, except for five years in Phoenix, Arizona when he was young, when his family moved there to help with his asthma. He grew up with four brothers and sisters and a half-brother.
Scottie is a proud dad to his daughter and loves being a grandpa to his granddaughter.

Over the years, Scottie worked as a delivery truck driver and spent some time hauling gasoline. His favorite job, however, was rebuilding diesel engines, a skill he truly enjoyed. Outside of work, Scottie loved being on the water. He owned a fish and ski boat, spent plenty of time fishing, and even enjoyed water skiing on occasion.

We’re happy to have Scottie as part of our Lawrence County Manor family. 💛
