The other day, a woman came in dealing with ongoing tension in her left leg and hip.
It had been bothering her for a while, and nothing seemed to fully resolve it.
As we started working, it became clear that her body wasn’t just holding physical tension—
it was holding stress connected to a situation in her life.
There was a person she had been dealing with that had been weighing on her more than she realized.
And her body had taken that on.
This is something I see often.
We can think we’re “handling” something mentally…
but the body tells the truth.
It shows up as tightness, discomfort, pressure, or that feeling of something just not being right.
As I worked, we focused on releasing the tension in the body,
but also calming the stress response connected to that situation.
By the end of the session, the tightness had eased, and her body felt noticeably lighter and more settled. Just allowing the body to let go of what it had been holding.
A lot of what we carry isn’t just physical.
It’s connected to our daily lives, our stress, and the people and situations we’re navigating.
And the body responds to all of it.
If something in your body has been lingering, tight, or just feels off,
there’s usually a reason.
