Since we are out of school tomorrow (Friday 1/29/21) for a virtual snow day, we will be providing a food distribution from Mountain City Elementary.

This will be available for any child 18 years and under. This distribution will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Traffic will flow from Hwy 421 entrance to school around the playground loop, proceed behind school to pick up food at back door of kitchen and exit beside gym to Donnelly St.

Each child will receive breakfast and lunch food items for four days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Some of the foods will be frozen and we will provide reheating information on these. Just a reminder, children do not have to be in the vehicle to get meals, parents may pick these up.

Each child will receive 4 cartons milk, 12 French toast sticks, 4 juice/fruit, 4 frozen hamburger patties, 4 frozen hamburger buns, 1 tomato, 1 onion, 4 lettuce leafs and 2 cups frozen French fries.

The Johnson County Board of Education met in a special called session this evening and decided to continue with full virtual learning for the next two weeks. The Johnson County Board of Education will meet again at their regularly scheduled board meeting on September 10th to reassess the current situation.

Parents who are needing assistance from teachers or administrators should contact the Johnson County Schools Central Office at 727-2640 or call their child's school for support.

As we prepare for virtual learning Johnson County Schools is still dedicated to providing nutritional meals to our students. During this time students will be able to have meals delivered to their homes via bus routes or there will be a drive-up pick-up location at Mountain City Elementary from 11:00 to 12:00pm. However, this will not be similar to our feeding service in the spring. Students must be enrolled in Johnson County Schools and complete the form below to receive these free meals. Paper copies will be available at Central Office.
