Ozark Eye Center is a trusted healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional eye care services to the Mountain Home community. We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Maintenance Technician to keep our facility safe, clean, and fully operational for patients and staff.
Job Description:
This is a hands-on, experienced-level position responsible for all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance, including extensive grounds and landscaping care. Work is often physical and repetitive, requiring the ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks safely and efficiently. The position is available immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment daily to identify issues and ensure everything is in proper working order.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including changing filters and lightbulbs, cleaning equipment/filters, painting, and general facility cleaning.
• Maintain all landscaping: mow lawns, edge, trim shrubs, w**d and maintain flower beds, blow walkways/driveways, and keep the entire property looking professional and well-groomed year-round.
• Safely operate and maintain grounds-care equipment (commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, etc.).
• Respond promptly to work orders, emergency requests, and incoming maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC breakdowns; coordinate with outside vendors for proper repair.
• Perform electrical tasks such as replacing bulbs, sockets, and cleaning/repairing circuit breaker panels.
• Maintain heating, plumbing, ventilation, alarm, and fire protection systems.
• Conduct minor carpentry, lock repairs, window replacement, and other manual repairs.
• Handle pest control activities (including spraying insecticide when needed).
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, electric tools, plumbing tools, and all landscaping/grounds equipment.
• Read and follow manuals, blueprints, and written instructions.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Keep tools, parts storage, work areas, and grounds equipment clean and organized.
• Complete parts and supply runs as required.
• Communicate existing or potential issues clearly to the Practice Manager or Administrator.
• Comply with all OSHA and company safety regulations, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, ladder/roof safety, chemical handling, safe operation of mowers and power equipment, and maintaining clear emergency pathways.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operation and appearance of the facility.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in general building and equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience with full-property landscaping and grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, flower beds, etc.).
• Broad knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Trade school certification or licenses in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
• Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
