🎶✨ When Your Nurse Has Hidden Talents… ✨🎶

One of our incredible nurses decided to share a very special skill with our residents this week — her talent as a hula hoop artist! 💃🌀
Safe to say, jaws were dropped, smiles were wide, and the room was filled with laughter and applause.

And because no great moment is complete without a little friendly fun… some of our other nurses (with slightly less experience, we’ll say 😄) bravely stepped in to give it a try too. Let’s just say effort was high, enthusiasm was unmatched, and the entertainment value was off the charts.

Moments like this are what make our facility feel like home — where care, joy, and personality shine just as brightly as professionalism. ❤️
Our residents loved every second, and honestly… so did we.

💙 A Very Special Rehab Story 💙

Almost two months ago, my grandma, Sharon Taylor, broke her leg and had to make an important decision about where to go for rehab. She chose Hiram Shaddox — and yes, I might have had a little influence since I work here. 😉

But it didn’t take long for her to realize that I wasn’t the only reason this was the right place.

From the nurses and physical therapists to the entire care team, everyone welcomed her with open arms. Before we knew it, the staff had fallen in love with her… and she had officially adopted them right back.

She came to Hiram Shaddox with one family member — but she’s leaving tomorrow with a whole facility full of them.

I sat down to interview her ahead of her discharge to hear how her rehab stay went, and her words say it better than I ever could. We’re so proud of the progress she’s made and honored to have been part of her journey back to strength and independence.

This is what rehab looks like when care, compassion, and connection come together. 💙

We're looking for individuals with big hearts and a little extra time who would like to come visit with our residents once a month. In our "adopt-a-hallway program", you would be designated to a certain hallway full of residents and given the opportunity to bring some Fatiht and Friendship to those who could use a little reminder that they are not in this alone. ❄️ Just another normal winter day at Hiram Shaddox… ⛄️

Nothing out of the ordinary here — just a couple of our residents heading out for a friendly game of pickleball, a quick mail run, and a perfectly reasonable seven-day pill organizer built entirely out of snow.

You know… typical winter activities.
