We kicked off Valentine’s Day week at Mountain Home with a truly special treat — a Valentine’s Day Chimes Concert, performed by our very own residents, for our residents 💕🎶

The chimes group filled the room with beautiful favorites like You Are My Sunshine, Oh My Beautiful Doll, and Fly Me to the Moon. The music brought smiles, toe-tapping, and so many heartfelt moments.

A big thank you to our talented chimes players and to their director, Donna Brown, for sharing your time, dedication, and musical gifts with our community. We’re off to a lovely start this Valentine’s Day week! ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Mayra Ramirez from Estate and Elder Law in Mountain Home for her generous gift of one dozen blankets for our residents. 💙🧣

Your kindness and thoughtfulness will help keep our residents warm and comforted, and it truly means so much to our community. Pictured here with Todd Bunch, our Administrator, we’re grateful for partnerships like this that make a real difference.

On the nursing home side at Mountain Home, we took part in a meaningful and creative Valentine’s Day card exchange focused on connection and kindness 💌

Residents chose 10 different states and nursing home locations across the country and wrote Valentine’s cards to send to them. Each card included three fun facts about our home state of Arkansas:
• Cheese dip originated in Arkansas
• Walmart first opened in Rogers, AR in 1962
• Crater of Diamonds State Park is the only place in the U.S. where you can search for and keep real diamonds 💎

This activity is part of a larger Valentine’s exchange happening across senior living communities nationwide. After seeing the joy it brought others, our residents were excited to join in and share a piece of Arkansas with new friends.

The day sparked great conversation, creativity, and pride — and our residents loved knowing their cards will brighten someone else’s Valentine’s Day. 💕

Last week at Mountain Home, we rolled out the royal treatment with a cast party fit for a fairytale! 👑📸

Our residents gathered to celebrate their amazing Princess and the Pea performance — enjoying photos, videos, themed games, and lots of laughter. It was the perfect way to relive the magic and honor all the hard work (and fun!) that went into the show. Bravo to our talented cast! 🎭✨

❄️ Weather Reminder for Wellness Members ❄️

As a friendly reminder, if Mountain Home Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Wellness Center will also be closed for the day.

They’re calling for some wintery weather this weekend and early next week, so please stay safe, stay warm, and check local school closures before heading out!

Dear Residents, Families, and Friends, We are still smiling after our wonderful performance of Princess and the Pea! What a special experience it was to see our residents shine on stage and share their talents with such a supportive audience. A heartfelt thank you to our musical director, Donna Brown, for her time, dedication, and passion in bringing this production to life. Her guidance, encouragement, and creativity helped make this musical such a success. We would also like to extend a huge thank you to all of our actors and choir members who worked so hard rehearsing, memorizing, singing, and performing. Your confidence, joy, and teamwork truly made the story magical. Thank you as well to our pianist, whose beautiful music brought the entire production together and added so much heart to the performance. Finally, thank you to everyone who came to watch, cheer, and support our residents. Your presence meant so much and helped make the day even more meaningful for all involved. We are so proud of everyone who participated and are grateful for the incredible support from our community.

We rolled into a great time at Mountain Home with an afternoon of floor bowling! 🎳🦃

Residents enjoyed learning (and re-learning!) how to score, cheering each other on, and celebrating every strike — especially the rare “turkey” with some hilarious gobble sounds!

A perfect mix of fun, movement, and connection — we’re already looking forward to the next round!

We had a fascinating visit from our local library friends at Mountain Home for an educational seminar all about banned books 📚❌

From Peter Rabbit to The Great Gatsby, residents were shocked (and amused!) to learn just how many classics have been challenged over the years. A fun trivia game sparked laughter, lively conversation, and lots of curiosity.

Big thanks to the library team for such an eye-opening and engaging experience!

Dear Wellness Members,
I wanted to share another update regarding the pool. Unfortunately, we need to close the pool again, effective Wednesday, January 7th, 2026.
Due to the warm pool water and the ongoing issues with the Desert Aire system, the pool room is becoming too hot. At this time, we are no longer able to safely keep the pool heater running. In order to prevent further damage and allow our team to determine next steps, both the pool and pool heater will need to remain shut down.
We are still waiting to see how we will be proceeding moving forward and will share more information as soon as it becomes available.
Because of this continued closure, warm water therapy pool memberships only will be waived for the month of February. No warm water therapy pool membership fee will be owed for that month.
In the meantime, we would love to invite you to join our SAIL Exercise Program, held in the Wellness Center Studio Room on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00–11:00 AM. This is a well-rounded, 12-week exercise routine proven to help improve balance and strength. This program is completely free.
If you are interested in participating, please call 870-425-2494 ext. 19 for more information or to sign up.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this unexpected situation.
