Helping our local animals get adopted is highly important to us! Max is such a love. He's the longest resident at the animal control center. I've had the opportunity to work with this awesome guy. He wants to be with his people. Knows basic commands and appears very house trained. They think he's a poodle/ airedale mix. If you know anyone who may be interested in adopting him contact the mountain home animal control center. (In Idaho, not Arkansas 🤣)

Checking out trails for the old selam endurance ride with Veronica Stanley and Foxy over a few weekends. It's been such a blast spending time riding horses in the forest with good friends. Red has yet again been given a summer off. He's still healing from his run in with the fence a few months ago. I'm hopeful he will be sound in the future.

Hiking in rattlesnake country?
Here are some tips to help keep your dog safe.

First off, before any adventure with your beloved canine, have a list of veterinarians in the area that you can reach in an emergency. Know which ones carry anti-venom.

*Keep dogs on leash
*Stick to trails
*Always be aware of your surroundings
*Step on rocks/ logs instead of over them
*Wear protective clothing and appropriate shoes
*Avoid tall grass

What if your dog is bitten by a rattlesnake?

*Keep the dog calm & carry them, if possible, to your vehicle to keep their heart rate low
*Head to the nearest vet who carries anti-venom and call ahead to let them know there is an emergency

Fun Fact: Not all rattlesnakes rattle before striking, so stay vigilant!
