When Olivia's family noticed swelling in her neck, her primary care veterinarian diagnosed her with lymphoma. At MedVet Vancouver, our Medical Oncology team completed Olivia's staging tests and confirmed she had the more favorable Stage 4 B cell lymphoma.

Olivia immediately started the CHOP protocol, which is an intensive, six month treatment that uses a combination of chemotherapy agents. She quickly won the hearts of the entire hospital, and took to her treatment like a pro! 💪 Olivia was shy at first, but it didn't take long for her to make friends and realize cookies were life, and she couldn't wait for her visits. One time, she even climbed over the lobby table to greet one of her favorite MedVet caregivers!

We are thrilled that Olivia is now an official chemo graduate 🎉, and we loved celebrating her big milestone with her amazing family and our team who adores her.

Science in veterinary medicine doesn’t look just one way. At MedVet, science shows up in many roles, from hands-on patient care to diagnostics, imaging, and data-driven decision making.

This International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we’re recognizing the many ways women apply science every day to help pets heal. 👩‍🔬👩🏽‍🔬👩🏻‍🔬👩🏿‍🔬👩🏼‍🔬

When Truffles came to MedVet Commerce at just six weeks old, she was unresponsive and needed intensive, around-the-clock care. Her previous family made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender her to a local rescue so she could get the medical help she needed, and from there she was fostered by our caregiver Cait, who quickly became her hero.

Truffles had suffered a brain bleed that caused her to lose her vision, but one year later she’s thriving in her forever home. She’s spoiled with love, treats, and cozy days by the window (even if she can’t see what’s outside), and she’s a beautiful reminder that even the toughest beginnings can lead to the happiest endings. 🐾

When Baxter came to MedVet Hilliard for an upset tummy and diarrhea, no one expected a Broadway connection to be part of the story! Baxter's dad is currently starring as Inspector Javert in Les Misérables US and traveling on tour all the way from New Zealand, with Baxter along for the adventure.

Dr. Emily Fagundo made sure Baxter was feeling stable and sent him home with treatments to help him recover quickly. We’re happy to report he was back to his happy self in no time, and as a thank you, his dad surprised Baxter's care team with backstage passes to the show. We even got some post-performance photos and Baxter kisses to top it off, which made this visit one we’ll never forget. 🎭

When Ida started having trouble using her back leg, her family brought her to MedVet Indianapolis for rehabilitation therapy to help her move more comfortably and build strength again. After just a short time in therapy, her mom is already noticing a big difference and says Ida is walking better and feeling more like herself.

We love being part of Ida’s journey and cheering her on every step of the way, and those famous eyebrows definitely make every visit even sweeter.

During a walk, Nala was unexpectedly injured in an encounter with another dog, and her family rushed her to the ER at MedVet Jupiter for help. After a thorough exam, our team recommended surgery to repair injuries to her jaw and nose and help her breathe comfortably again.

With the care of Dr. Alex Padron and our Surgery team, Nala’s procedure went smoothly, and she was even able to go home the very same day! 💙

We’re thrilled to report Nala is doing great and was such a sweetheart that she was voted Patient of the Quarter by our team. A big thank you to our Emergency, Nursing, and Surgery teams for helping Nala get back to her happy, healthy self. 🐾

When temperatures drop, your pet’s safety becomes even more important. ❄️

If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them. As Tara, one of our incredible Hospital Directors explains, pet parents should limit time outdoors, watch for signs of frostbite and hypothermia, and keep antifreeze and ice melt out of reach, as they can be toxic to pets.

If your pet shows signs of distress or exposure to cold, contact your family veterinarian or your nearest MedVet ER right away. ❤️

From all of us at MedVet, stay safe and stay warm!

Nine months after spinal surgery to remove a tumor, Wellington continues to prove just how strong and determined he is. Most days he tackles the stairs with confidence, even if he still pauses for a little encouragement on the way down, and when excitement gets the best of him at mealtime, his mom is always there to lend a steadying hand. 💙

Seeing Wellington enjoying life again is a beautiful reminder of what dedicated care and lots of love can do, and we’re so grateful to Dr. Megan Lin and the entire MedVet Commerce team for helping make moments like these possible. 🐾

When Barley's family noticed swelling in his neck, he was seen by his family veterinarian. Lymph node testing confirmed a diagnosis of lymphoma, and consultation with an Oncologist was advised for specialized care.

We were fortunate that Barley's family chose MedVet Vancouver for his care! After additional testing, Barley was diagnosed with Stage 4 T cell lymphoma. Lymphoma is a common cancer that affects the immune system. In Barley's case, his cancer was affecting his spleen and the lymph nodes. Barley began CHOP chemotherapy with the goal to slow the growth of his cancer, and help him feel his very best.

We're proud to share that Barley has completed his treatment and has officially graduated from therapy. Congratulations to Barley and his pet parents, Matthew and Lizzie, on this milestone! Thank you for trusting our team with his care, and for all of Barley's extra cuddles and kisses.

When Jeter was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer that grows in the body’s connective tissues, his family turned to MedVet Akron and Dr. Jacqueline Bloch-Miles from our Medical Oncology team for help.

After bravely going through chemotherapy and two surgeries, sadly Jeter’s cancer returned. That’s when our team was able to offer a new option: electrochemotherapy, a treatment that combines chemotherapy with gentle electrical pulses to help the medication better target the tumor. Jeter became the very first patient at MedVet Akron to receive this innovative therapy, opening the door to new possibilities for pets facing similar challenges.

Jeter’s courage and spirit made a lasting impact on everyone who cared for him, and we’re proud to have been part of his journey. His mom has shared that he's doing well at home! 💙
