Dodger’s walk took a scary turn when he snapped at a bee and suddenly became very sick, vomiting and collapsing. His family rushed him to the ER at MedVet Campbell, where our team discovered he was experiencing severe anaphylactic shock, a life-threatening allergic reaction that can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure and affect vital organs.

Dodger received intensive care in our ICU, including blood pressure support, a blood transfusion, and plasma transfusions to help his body recover. After a few days of dedicated care from Drs. Rachel Jorgensen, Stephanie La Plume, Annie Yeh, and the incredible MedVet Campbell team of technicians, he made a full recovery and was able to head home to his very relieved family. 💙

When Loki, a 3-year-old cat, was brought to MedVet Austin on Christmas night, he was dealing with a necrotic wound, an area of damaged tissue that was no longer healthy and needed urgent care. What started as a small bump under his right armpit had grown quickly and ruptured, causing the wound to drain.

Loki’s family acted fast and brought him straight to our ER, where he was cared for by Dr. Anna Gates. He was placed under anesthesia and underwent wound debridement, a procedure to carefully remove the damaged tissue and help the area heal properly.

We’re happy to share that Loki’s wound is healing well, and at follow-up visits he’s been feeling so good that he’s even sharing hugs with our technicians. 💙

Christmas Day became one Bella’s family will never forget. After being in labor for several hours and delivering four puppies, Bella needed an emergency C-section to safely bring her remaining three puppies into the world.

Our experienced WestVet Surgery team, led by Dr. Kate Spies, performed the procedure, while Dr. Nikki Licht and our ICU team cared for the newborn puppies and helped them get a strong start at WestVet Boise.

We’re happy to share that Bella and all seven puppies are now back home and doing well. 💛
