At Harvard University’s Human Flourishing Program, flourishing is defined as “a state in which all aspects of a person’s life are good, including the contexts in which that person lives” (VanderWeele, 2025).

In their daily roles, Acknowledge Alliance resilience consultants provide strengths-based coaching, support groups, social-emotional learning, counseling, and crisis intervention to empower educators with tools to manage stress, nurture relationships, and guide students with compassion and confidence. Our resilience consultants are incorporating human flourishing into school-based practices, resulting in meaningful benefits for both students and teachers.

Check out our October newsletter for real world examples of how incorporating simple mindfulness practices boosted the flourishing of teachers and led to significantly improved academic performance in students.

🎉🇵🇭 October is Filipino American History Month, when we celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Filipino Americans — the 2nd largest Asian American group in the U.S.🇵🇭 🎉

Did you know the first Filipinos arrived in what's now Morro Bay, California, on October 18, 1587, aboard a Spanish galleon? Their legacy continues to shape American history and culture to this day. Let’s honor their stories, celebrate their achievements, and uplift the voices of the Fil-Am community.

Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day by honoring the resilience, strength, history and traditions of Indigenous people in our nation. We take this opportunity to recognize that Acknowledge Alliance’s offices are located in Mountain View, the unceded, ancestral homeland of the Tamien Nation, Muwekma and Ramyatush speaking Ohlone peoples who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula.

⏰📆Today, Santa Clara University in collaboration with the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area is hosting the 3rd Annual Native American Symposium. This year’s symposium builds upon previous years themes and will focus on Social Justice & Reconciliation. The event is FREE and open to the community, and a livestream link will be shared the morning of the symposium. Learn more at https://www.scu.edu/diversity/native-symposium-2025/
