Our Story
Rochelle Gibbons and Althea Uhlman Tomijima are California-licensed attorneys in the San Francisco Bay Area that have a passion for representing those most in need without regard to the financial status of their clients. They practice family-based immigration law with a special emphasis on helping victims of domestic violence (VAWA and/or U visa), serious crime (U visa), and DREAMERs. Both are members of American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Bay Area Coalition for Immigrant Victims of Crime in addition to being married to immigrants. ISMV is also an affiliate of CLINIC (Catholic Legal Immigration Network) and the Immigration Advocates Network. They are supported by Maria Gonzalez, an Immigration Attorney licensed in Ohio, Daisy Guevara, a California-licensed paralegal and interpreter (a native speaker of Spanish with a Masters in Spanish), in addition to managing the office along with Evelyn Rocha, a legal assistant and office assistant, and Fernando Macias, an interpreter and receptionist. ISMV is a 501(c)(3) organization accepting donations.
