In the second half of our visit to Bangladesh 🇧🇩, we set out to visit the Sundarbans which is the largest mangrove forest in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to unique wildlife like the Bengal tiger. It took us 4 hours by car from Dhaka and an one hour ferry ride to arrive at our White Lotus Bangladesh 😁 Upon arrival we had a welcome drink and then took a canoe tour up the channel and spotted a water lizard. No crocodiles 🐊 and no Bengal tiger 🐯 khuu.md.faad

It was an eventful first day in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The tour guide Shahoriar picked us up promptly at 9:00 AM and we set out to visit the flower market. Interestingly the marigolds only last 24 hours but the time it took to make them couldn’t be short. The irony of beauty does not last yet human nature always has looked for the beauty in all essences. We visited the famous Dhaka University and learned the students have 15 to a master room in their first year at the dormitory. We visited the 900 year old Hindu statue in the Dhakeshwari Temple, even though 91.04% of Bangladesh’s population is Muslim making Islam ☪️ the majority religion and the predominant faith of the country. We saw a Shi’ite mosque 🕌 make by the Mughal, the descendants of those who made the Taj Mahal. I was skeptical about eating Biryani in Bangladesh but it was good and my stomach is still quiet while writing this, but I made sure not to eat fresh vegetables and drink questionable water. I had ginger tea, but it looked clean, the cups were cleansed with scorching hot water in front of my eyes so somewhat sterilized. We took powered by a small motor everywhere, these are built similarly to the Vietnamese but are much more colorful. The giant buses were made in China using recycled materials and the model is inspired by the British On average the daily time spent in traffic for a Bangladeshi is over two hours and the noise pollution is over 119 decibels.
