These Factors May Increase Your Risk of Alzheimers
(http://ow.ly/Jvy630lJkvi)

Alzheimer's disease is a very common disease that causes memory loss as well as loss of other important mental functions. While nearly 5 million Americans already are diagnosed with the disease, the number is expected to significantly rise due to the rising age limit of our population. While there is still a lot that doctors don't know about the disease, there are common factors that are known to increase the risk of Alzheimer's. These factors include your age (your risk increases after age 65), your genetics, your family history, heart conditions, a history of head trauma and even smoking.

Alzheimer's disease affects nearly 5 million Americans, a number that's expected to balloon to 13.8 million by 2050.

Learning How to Read Your Blood Pressure Number
(http://ow.ly/y4xx30lJkvf)

If you're not familiar with blood pressure readings, it can be quite confusing. However, it's important to be able to understand your blood pressure readings as high blood pressure is linked to health conditions, which can cause heart attack and even a stroke. There are two numbers when it comes to blood pressure. The upper number, systolic number, shows the amount of pressure exerted on the artery wall when your heart beats and the lower number, diastolic number, shows the amount of pressure exerted on the artery wall in between beats while the heart is resting. A normal blood pressure reading has a systolic number of less than 120 and a diastolic number of less than 80.

For many, traveling or going on vacation is a fun and exciting time. Packing for your trip is always imperative, but if you have asthma, it can truly be a matter of life and death. Asthma is a common condition with over 3 million reported cases every year. During an asthma attack, a person's airways become inflamed and constricted, which makes it difficult and sometimes nearly impossible to breath. An inhaler provides medicine straight to the lungs making it easier to breath, making it vital to a person with asthma, especially while travelling. Be sure to pack an inhaler and be aware of possible asthma triggers as you prepare for your next trip.

It may seem like medical trivia, but the risks are real. So are the steps you can take to reduce them when you travel.

When considering Botox, it's normal to have a lot of questions. For example, a big concern is whether or not the face will look frozen after injections. The answer is no. Botox can be injected to leave you with plenty of natural movement in your face. Another common question is how long Botox lasts. Generally, it can last up four months, though it can vary depending on how quickly your body metabolizes the treatment.

Botox has been used as an anti-aging treatment for close to a decade. Find answers to all your questions about botulinum toxin.

Is There a Link Between Dementia and Blood Pressure?

Could high blood pressure affect your risk for dementia and stroke? The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke seems to think so. They are currently urging all those who have high blood pressure to seek treatment, including taking blood pressure medication if necessary. They believe that that treatment along with a healthy diet and exercise can help reduce your risk of dementia and stroke.

How Long Do Botox Injections Last?

If you have wrinkles, especially around the eyes and frown lines of your forehead, you may have considered getting a botox injection at some point. When botox is injected, it blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles, which results in a more relaxed muscle that is unable to contract. This of course softens the lines of wrinkles in your face. While botox has a high success rate and is administered very easily, it is not a procedure that is done only once. A botox injection will last generally for 3-6 months and after that, wrinkles will begin to reappear. For consistent, smooth skin, continued botox procedures are recommended.
