Tribal Adaptive x Telluride Adaptive

Our first camp of the winter—and three full days of skiing, riding, reconnecting with familiar faces, welcoming new athletes, and sharing time on snow together. From first chair to last lap, we were out there making the turns and building community that goes far beyond the hill.

Huge thanks to the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation for supporting this camp and making many more to come possible.

This Throwback Thursday, we’re honoring members of the TASP community who passed away this year: Milo DeVries, Dan Noel, Hank Hintermeister, and Delmar Calhoun.

Each of them supported TASP in deeply meaningful ways—as athletes, volunteers, donors, teachers, and steadfast community members. They are not forgotten, and their legacy continues throughout our programs and people.

Milo DeVries was a generous patriarch of the program in every sense—teaching, supporting Enabling All, sponsoring events, donating accessible lodging, purchasing hand warmers for all athletes, sharing TASP’s story far and wide, and bringing joy to staff with his legendary Christmas chocolate and gift baskets. He will always be missed.

Dan Noel was an incredible presence at TASP. Pictured here is Dan receiving the Golden Outrigger Award, a reflection of the impact he made within our community.

Hank Hintermeister loved skiing, Telluride, and the time the sport gave him with family and friends. He believed deeply in TASP’s mission and the importance of access through adaptive sports.

Delmar Calhoun shared his passion beyond the slopes by writing a book about a veteran with PTSD and the healing power of adaptive recreation and time outdoors.

We continue to think of Delmar, Hank, Dan, and Milo—on the slopes and beyond.
If there’s someone you’d like us to honor in our Throwback Thursday series, please let us know.

This week, we’re skiing alongside Tribal Adaptive, a partnership we’ve been proud to share for the past 3 years.

Here’s what Derek Parrish had to say about his winter experience at TASP:

“TASP lets me ski like anyone else. I’m out there on the mountain, pushing myself, laughing, and just enjoying being alive. Coming from the rez, that kind of freedom means a lot.”

Grateful for strong partnerships, shared time on snow, and the community that makes days like these possible!

Here are some of the TASP folks back in 2011 - Courtney, Tim, M’Lin, and several of our dedicated board members - a reminder of how strong and steady this community has always been.

As we wrap up Giving Tuesday and Colorado Gives Day, we’re feeling especially grateful. Your support keeps TASP thriving year after year, and it’s because of this incredible community that we can continue opening the outdoors to everyone.

Here’s to the past, present, and future of TASP. 💙

At TASP, creating the best possible experience for every athlete starts long before the chairlift- it starts with preparation, teamwork, and a whole lot of learning on snow.

We’re excited, we’re ready, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another great winter on the mountain!
