IFAF mourns the recent passing of Dr. Timothy Steven Grace.
Dr. Grace, a dear friend of the International Foot & Ankle Foundation, concluded his earthly journey surrounded by his family, on November 1, 2023, at the age of 63. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda, 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
As a respected podiatrist, Dr. Grace's commitment to the well-being of his patients was exceptional. He committed 31 years to running his private practice, Family Foot Health Center in Puyallup WA, advancing the field through his roles in the WSPMA (Washington State Podiatric Medical Association) and APMA (American Podiatric Medical Association). His contributions to the podiatric community earned him Podiatrist of the Year in 2019 from the WSPMA. Dr Grace was a proud graduate of the College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989. He went on to do residencies at the VA American Lake/Madigan Army Medical Center and New Mexico Podiatric Surgical Residency.
Dr. Grace was a friend and frequent supporter of the International Foot & Ankle Foundation, where he participated in multiple scientific seminars and courses throughout the years--the Hawaii program being his favorite. He was beloved by his patients and colleagues alike:
"Tim was a fantastic person and truly nice guy. He was a super cheerleader for IFAF and always told us how much we changed his life and made it better. I think he made us all better." --Dr. Dock Dockery
"Tim lived and loved this life and gave us all a sense of purpose when we were near him. He was an inspiration on how to be gracious and kind to one another and he always made you feel that you were important to him and that what you did mattered in this life. We will miss his smile, his kindness, and his genuine love of people. May we all remember his lessons and pay it forward in honor of him." --Dr. Mary Crawford
"Tim will be a loss to our association and to podiatry. I worked with Tim over the years regarding our political action committees. Tim was always the first to contribute. He was a great guy and a great example of being a stand-up guy for our organization. He will be missed greatly.” –Dr. Rex Nilson
“Tim was a fantastic friend, mentor, and role model. Tim would be your biggest cheerleader and was always incredibly supportive. His dedication to our profession was impressive and he spent a lot of time advocating and volunteering to keep moving podiatry forward. I'm incredibly grateful that I was able to work with Tim and get to know him and his family. His kindness and helpfulness (always with a good sense of humor) will never be forgotten.” –Dr. Mallory Schweitzer
"Tim was one of those rare individuals who always put other people first. It was effortless for him to be kind and genuinely concerned about other people. Gandhi once said, “Be the change you would like to see in the world”. If we could all be a little more like Tim Grace what a better place this would be. He will be missed." --Dr. Byron Hutchinson
