Spectrum Spurs, Equine-Assisted Learning SS offers EAL sessions for individuals with autism, anxiety, trauma, and special needs. Each session is uniquely tailored to the learner's goals and needs.

Through hands-on horse activities, we build confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.

At Spectrum Spurs, we don’t just teach, we learn every single day from the incredible individuals we work with! Our learners show us what it means to be patient, authentic, resilient, and uniquely themselves. We feel so lucky to be part of their journey, to celebrate their strengths, support their growth, and create a space where they feel safe, seen, and valued.
Autism is not something to “fix”, it is something to understand, embrace, and appreciate. Today, and every day, we celebrate and embrace the beauty of the autistic community!

Horses are incredibly sensitive animals. As prey animals, their safety depends on noticing the smallest changes in their environment. They can feel something as tiny as a fly landing on their back, which means they can certainly feel the energy, intention, and touch of the humans around them.
That’s why we always greet them with a soft hand or a calm voice, letting them know we are safe, kind, and respectful of their space.

In many ways, people are not so different.
Every person we meet is carrying something we may never see. Quiet victories, personal battles, worries, hopes, and moments of courage just to get through the day. Sometimes people feel a little like prey too… alert, unsure, or just needing gentleness from the world around them.

At Spectrum Spurs, one of the most powerful lessons horses teach us is the importance of kindness and awareness. When we slow down, soften our energy, and approach others with patience, trust begins to grow.
Sometimes healing doesn’t start with big words or big actions.
Sometimes it starts with a small hand… and a gentle hello.
